We spend our lives collecting these little moments. We don't recognize them when we are in them because we are too busy looking forward. Ironically, we spend the rest of our lives looking back trying to remember.

The NDR home has celebrated our one-year anniversary, and we would like to share some things with you.

It’s been quite a year! We have had the honor of assisting women in getting their licenses, new jobs, new homes and being restored to their families. We can’t tell you how good that feels! But we have also been heart broken when we see a women leave, knowing she wasn’t ready. That feeling is just as strongly felt. Through it all we have learned that we must lean on and trust God. He alone is able to bring the addict into a new day. Step two brings with it a faith in something greater than ourselves, a hope that is tangible and courage to face each day sober. It is our prayer that each and every woman that enters our home will be enlightened by God and truly believe He can do what she couldn't.

We cannot end this post without sharing with you what we have witnessed from the sponsors that have come to our home from AA and NA. They have a dedication and commitment that far exceeds anything we have ever seen. What the world needs is more people like these. Offer them center stage or a nook in a coffee shop and they will choose the nook every time. And that makes all the difference in the lives of the women who come into our home. RELATIONSHIP!

We opened this home, because we love people. We love the addict and we love their family. We pray we have loved them all well and that our love is guided by Him in all things. These women are masterpieces in the making and inspire us daily. It is a great honor to be part of their lives, and we never want to take that casually. May God continue to lead us all and may we continue to be willing to follow.

2. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

"if you’re struggling for any reason today and doubting your ability and value as a mom, hear this: God has faith in your ability to mother His children. Have faith in yourself.

God knew the struggles you would face and even the mistakes you would make, yet He still made you the mom of your kids.

You are the one whose unconditional love for them is powerful. Hang in there. They need you, whether they admit it right now or not and you need them."

Most of us were led into addiction by hurts that turned into resentments. These resentments have enslaved us and drawn us into isolation and fueled our addiction with the goal to never be hurt again.. The recovering addict must push through these fears and allow themselves to become vulnerable. Vulnerability with our sponsor and ourselves will take bravery but our being redeemed requires it
