Holiday Pet Safety While You’re Away 🎄🐾

Heading out of town? Whether your pet is staying at a boarding kennel, with a pet sitter, or a trusted friend, a little planning helps keep them safe and comfortable.

Pets may feel sad, confused, or anxious when their routine changes or when you’re away. Familiar items, consistency, and good communication with caregivers can make a big difference.

✔️ Make sure pets wear ID tags and are microchipped with up-to-date information
✔️ Leave written care instructions (feeding, medications, routines, emergency contacts)
✔️ Let your vet know you’ll be away and who has permission to seek medical care
✔️ Send your pet’s regular food, medications, bedding, and favorite toys
✔️ Ensure gates and doors are secure to prevent accidental escapes

A little preparation helps keep your pet safe, secure, and feeling loved until you return home. 🐶🐱

It’s hard to believe that 2026 is just two weeks away. Start the new year in the best way possible by being proactive about your health.

Colorectal Cancer is the number two cause of cancer deaths in Wichita County. A colonoscopy is the best way to detect this health concern.
