Don’t let unsafe water break your heart. 💔

Private wells aren’t regulated like public water systems — which means testing is up to you. The good news? Our Public Health Lab is here to help.

This February, show your household some love by scheduling a water test. Safe water = healthy families.

Because at the Health District, protecting what matters most is our love language. 💘

Celebrating 4 Years of Service – Alexandra Orellana

Today we proudly recognize Alexandra Orellana and her four years of service with the Wichita Falls–Wichita County Public Health District!

As the Manager of the Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias Program, Alexandra leads one of our most important and impactful initiatives. Her work supports individuals living with dementia, uplifts caregivers, and helps our community better understand, prepare for, and respond to these complex conditions with compassion and dignity.

Alexandra’s leadership, expertise, and deep commitment to this work make a meaningful difference every single day. Her dedication ensures that some of our most vulnerable neighbors—and those who care for them—are never navigating this journey alone.

Thank you, Alexandra, for your heart, your leadership, and four years of service that truly matter.

February is Spay & Neuter Awareness Month, and there’s never been a better time to do the right thing for your pet — and your community.

Every year, thousands of puppies and kittens enter shelters simply because there aren’t enough homes. Spaying and neutering helps:

✔️ Prevent unwanted litters
✔️ Reduce shelter overcrowding
✔️ Decrease roaming and certain unwanted behaviors
✔️ Lower the risk of some cancers and infections
✔️ Help pets live longer, healthier lives

Being a responsible pet owner isn’t just trendy — it’s transformative. When you choose to spay or neuter, you’re helping reduce pet overpopulation right here in Wichita Falls and giving animals a better chance at a safe, loving home.

💙 Let’s work together to keep tails wagging and shelters from overflowing.

Because the coolest thing you can do for your pet?

Be Hip to Snip. ✂️🐶🐱
