🫁 March 24 is World TB Day🫁
Tuberculosis (TB) remains the world’s leading infectious killer, but it is preventable and curable with proper testing and treatment.
Our Tuberculosis Program works year-round to protect the health of our community through testing, treatment, contact investigations, and education.
We’re grateful for partners like Texas DSHS and Heartland National TB Center, who provide expert education and training that help public health professionals and clinicians stay up to date on TB prevention and care.

Together we can test, treat, prevent—and move closer to ending TB.

Since January 1, 2026, the City of Wichita Falls Animal Services has taken in 357 dogs and 165 cats. We want to extend a huge, heartfelt thank you to our amazing rescue partners and fosters ❤️

Because of them, **163 animals** have been given a second chance:

🐾 Wichita County Humane Society – 32 cats + 10 more from a hoarding situation
🐾 Emily’s Legacy (foster-based nonprofit) – 35 cats + 38 from a hoarding situation
🐾 Texas Pit Crew (foster-based nonprofit) – 33 dogs, many of them underage puppies who would have struggled to survive in the shelter
🐾 PETS Underdog Express (foster-based nonprofit) – 15 dogs

We are so grateful—of course, there are always more animals in need. If you’ve ever thought about helping, please consider adopting, fostering, volunteering, or donating.

We also offer bottle baby classes! Raising babies, 0-8 weeks, puppies and kittens. Call Animal Services at **(940) 761-8894** to sign up. These classes also provide information on fostering for one of these amazing rescues.
Classes are free, we just ask for your most precious gift. "Time"

Together, we save lives. 🐶🐱

These are just a few of the faces that got a second chance because a foster stepped up to save them.

The City of Wichita Falls recently completed its first FlashVote survey, giving residents an opportunity to weigh in on issues they care about. We are committed to listening to residents about the issues that matter most to them, and FlashVote is one of several ways the City is working to ensure community voices help inform decisions.

Our recent survey on public safety provides a useful snapshot of community views and highlights areas where residents feel confident and where more work and communication are needed.

The more residents who sign up and participate, the more representative future surveys will be. If you haven’t signed up yet, we invite you to join your neighbors and take a few minutes to share your thoughts. To learn more about FlashVote, sign up, or review the results of the recent survey, https://bit.ly/47FBqNv.
