I’ve been trying to write this post for a while now, but haven’t quite been able to find the right words. What an incredible walk down memory lane, looking through all of these pics.
Balance Yoga + Barre is TEN years old this month. To say that this has been a wild ride is an understatement. I (.yoga) have been privileged to have Balance in my life for nine of those glorious years.
For those who don’t know, Balance opened in August 2015 and was owned and run by some of the most special people I have ever met, and . Through their sacrifice, vision, and drive, they created a beautiful space that drew you in from across the parking lot, and when you finally went inside, you were truly blown away.
When Balance opened, I was working at a different business in Parker Square, and did not yet practice yoga, but kept hearing these incredible things about a new studio that had opened up in town. My best friend worked at the front desk, so I decided to give it a try. We don’t have enough time here to talk about all the ways Balance has transformed my life, but let’s just say, I was never the same. I knew I was home.
My bestie was stepping into a new chapter of life, so I stepped into her role as Front Desk Coordinator, and the rest is history, as they say. When I was given the opportunity to take over ownership of Balance in 2019, there was absolutely no other clear choice - this place was my baby.
In the past 10 years, Balance has touched countless lives, and has been a safe space of healing and transformation for so many. We have brought innovation to Wichita Falls through a variety of new offerings including Barre, Sound Baths, YTTs, Women’s Retreats, and more. Teachers, students, friends, family, out of town guests, members - we have shared laughs, tears, truths, fears, hopes, dreams, and everything in between. We have made magic happen at two different locations. We have hosted retreats, workshops, parties, Yoga 101’s, educational series’, happy hours galore. We have led 200Hr teacher trainings and watched dozens of new yoga teachers graduate from our program. We’ve partnered with tons of other local businesses and organizations to create new relationships and connections. We’ve hosted countless donation-based classes to raise funds for our community. We survived a global pandemic without ever having a lapse in classes offered, whether it be in person or on Zoom.
I can’t really believe the amount of magic, joy, confidence, and strength I have seen cultivated in this space and this community over the past decade. None of this would have been possible without a few key things:
-YOUR support, even through Covid, so many of you never wavered in your support of our little studio
-the incredible talent, compassion, wisdom, and expertise of our teaching staff
-and lastly, but most importantly, Val and George had to take a leap of faith, and ultimately they created the wellness studio of Wichita Falls’ dreams
My gratitude for what we have, what has been, and what is to come, is overflowing. If you’ve made it this far, thank you, thank you, thank you. I can’t wait to see what’s down the line in the next 10 years.
🌿 Please flood our comments section with your happy memories of BALANCE! 🌿
Love, Carson
