Job Summary
BestCare Health Services Inc is seeking a skilled and compassionate Personal Care Assistant to join our team. As a PCA, you will play a crucial role in providing quality care to patients in facility (Royal Estates) ensuring their comfort, safety, and independence. Responsibilities
-Provide direct care and support to individuals within their own apartments and in the building
-Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary
-Aid in mobility assistance, including lifting and transferring individuals when necessary
-Deliver meals
-Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties such as picking up resident rooms and taking out trash
-Provide emotional support through active listening, companionship, and engaging in social activities that enhance residents’ quality of life
-Support individuals with developmental disabilities in achieving their personal goals
-Follow all safety protocols including first aid procedures, emergency response plans, and infection control practices to ensure resident safety at all times
-Work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with clients and colleagues
Qualifications
-Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly desirable
-Certifications in CPR are preferred; willingness to obtain necessary certifications upon hire is expected
-Experience working with people with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general is advantageous
-Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team setting
-Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as lifting residents safely using assistive devices like Hoyer lifts
