We are so excited to welcome Miss Delaney to the Sweet Talk team!!... 👏👏👏

"Hi, my name is Delaney Shandy and I am so excited to be working at Sweet Talk! I received my Masters in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Wichita State University in 2023 and am going on my 3rd year as an elementary school Speech-Language Pathologist. My passions within the field include articulation/phonology, early language development, and augmentative/alternative communication (AAC), but I love working with all children! My goal as an SLP is to be an advocate for diversity and inclusion, and support every child in finding their voice, no matter what modality they may use. My husband and I got married last November and we have 2 dogs, a husky named Kenai and an Alaskan malamute named Kodiak. In my spare time, you'll find me at home with a good book, but I also love to travel, hike, and cook/bake."

Another Sweet graduate found her voice; another mom is left wondering where the "off" button is 🤣. So excited for miss Blaire whose language skills really exploded after just a few short months of therapy (Miss Kylie secretly wishes every kid was as motivated by bubbles and lollipops as this gal was 😜). We will miss you, Blaire!!!

We are so excited to welcome Miss Holly to the Sweet Talk team! (We are especially excited that she has extensive training in orofacial myofunctional disorders 😏). Please join us in welcoming her to the fam 😊🥳

"Hello! My name is Holly Williams, and I am super excited for the opportunity to work with your child. I received my Masters Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Kansas State University in May 2018 and have been working in the schools and with the pediatric population ever since. I have experience working in most areas of our field but particularly enjoy working with articulation/phonology disorders and early language delays. I also recently discovered the world of orofacial myofunctional disorders and took an extensive continuing education course this last summer. I love that this area ties in two passions I have- holistic health and wellness and speech-language pathology. My husband and I have been married for 4 years this summer and are expecting our first baby in October. We can't wait for this exciting new blessing! When not at work, I enjoy working out or going on walks, listening to podcasts, cooking healthy meals, attending church events, traveling, and spending time with family and friends."

A huge congratulations to our most recent graduate - Lucas! This guy has been with us for almost 2 years now and has come so incredibly far!

One the first things we tell parents when they bring their child for an eval, is that speech therapy is NEVER a quick fix - it is not uncommon to be in therapy for a few years because of how complex the issues can be. This guy is proof that if you trust the process, we will get you to your goals! And we love how close we become with families along the way considering they spend a certain season of life with us ☺️🥰

Congratulations, Lucas! Your hard work has paid off and we are so proud! Miss Kylie will sure miss making crazy stories out of our target words with you 🥹 Wishing you all the best 🥳

Wow - so many emotions happening at Sweet Talk this week! Our beloved Miss Kassidy Brittain has taken a new position that allows her to be closer to her family, and today was her last official day seeing clients. We are so sad to be losing her, but wish her all the best in her new role! What better way to close out this chapter than with one of the sweetest graduation stories... The following was written by the mother of such a special little guy that graduated today. We are so proud 🥹 ....thank you Miss Kassidy for the all love and deeication you have poured into all your Sweet Talk kiddos over the last year a half. You will be missed! 💔

"Today was Cayne’s last private speech therapy session, and we’re closing out a really important chapter 💬❤️

He’s five and a half now, and he’s been in speech for almost four years. We first had concerns around 19 months, and not long after, we started this journey. That’s like 70% of his life 🤯

There were times I truly didn’t know if spoken language would come for him. And while there is nothing wrong with other ways of communicating, that possibility took time to fully accept.

We’ve worked with a lot of therapists over the years. Some helped a little, some just weren’t the right fit. And then we found Kassidy.

This past year, she has supported him through both speech and feeding therapy. She connected with him in a way no one else had. With her, things started to click. He made more progress this past year than he had in all the years before.

He trusted her. He looked forward to every session. And the work they did together showed up in his confidence, in his communication, and in our everyday life.

Now, with Kassidy moving on and daycare ending too, the timing feels right. But it is still emotional to say goodbye to someone who has been such a big part of his growth.

We are so thankful for her role in his story.

Thank you, Kassidy 🫶🏼"

Two of our clinicians finished up over 40 hours of continuing education in the area of orofacial myofunctional disorders this weekend! They received hands-on training from world-renowned presenter and creator of the Systems Approach to OMDs - miss Mary Billings! They have this skull and a whole lot of additional clinical skills to show for it. All of us at Sweet Talk are so excited to be able to offer this truly life-changing approach to therapy at our clinic!

What the inventors of the sippy cup don't want you to know: infants typically have the motor skills to drink from an open cup by around 6 months of age 🤯. Sippy cups were invented to prevent spills, not to facilitate mature oral motor skills needed for speech and feeding. Check out 9 month-old Gus independently drinking from a non-spout cup with minimal mess 👇
