Are You an Exfoliation Addict? Here’s THE Skincare Essentials for Rebuilding Your Skin’s Barrier!

Raise your hand if you’ve ever been personally victimized by exfoliation! 🙋🏻‍♀️ seriously, raise your hand in the comments, because this happens more than you think.

Over exfoliation is everywhere!! But I feel like you’ve been led astray. Although exfoliation is a vital part of a healthy skincare routine, Our skin needs NOURISHMENT more than exfoliation. And it’s causing some major skin upsets, including extra oily skin, extra dry skin, extra redness, and an increase in breakouts.

How can you tell if you’re an exfoliation ju**ie?
* Does your skin feel “Squeaky Clean” and tight 🧼 when you’re done cleansing?
* Is your skin shiny as a result from trying to scrub all the breakouts and fine lines away?
* Do you feel the need to DO MORE when you have a breakout or redness?
* Are you over-using products with salicylic acid, benzyl peroxide, retinol, alcohols or even “fragrance?”

Does this sound like you?! Take a breath. 😌

Now is the perfect time to take a look at what you’re doing and reevaluate your skincare products!

Bring a focus to simplifying while using products that build and protect the skin’s natural barrier function — like lighter exfoliation 🪸and more hydration. 💦 It’s all about the balance. Use products like my favorite:

Spring Forward Your Beauty Routine! 🌱☀️🧖🏼‍♀️

Can you feel it? The changing of the seasons and the beginning of spring. I do!

Spring is a time for clearing out the old and propelling forward with fresh starts. It’s a time to take the energy stored during winter and do something productive — building a strong foundation for the year ahead.

For your Mind, Body + Beauty Routines, this means some changes are in store. Here’s what you can do.

Mind: Throw out the has beens and what was, and leave it in the past. That’s previous year’s business. Find footing in the NOW — and take positive action toward your goals. YOU CAN DO IT! 💪🏻✨

Body: Get your energy flowing! Stagnation is OUT + Movement is IN. That doesn’t mean you need to hit the gym (unless you want to!) but a light walk, some stretching or yoga or even working in the garden 🪴 can get your blood pumping.

Beauty: Follow nature’s cycles! As the dryness of winter is leaving and the weather is getting warmer, our skin, nails and hair WILL feel it, even if you don’t.

• Brighten the skin by lightly exfoliating to shed your dry skin from winter🐍.
• Prepare for increased oil production — shift to lighter products (especially masks, moisturizers and oils) that won’t congest the skin.
• Treat breakouts and acne through nutrition, hydration and personalized skincare (I can help! 🙋🏻‍♀️)
• Wake up the skin with some massage, Gua Sha, and cryotherapy!

Skin feeling dry and dull this winter?! Enhance your Body Glow + Warm up with a bath tea! 🌱🛁

It’s cold out there… 🥶 but you don’t have to be!

Blood flow and proper circulation is necessary for healthy skin. When you’re cold, your body constricts to ensure your internal organs get nutrients, but that leaves your skin in no man’s land.

Although lotions and oils can help, there’s no substitute for getting the blood flowing. It’s the most effective route to rejuvenation!

You can exercise, stretch, massage or take a nice relaxing bath that promotes circulation.

Personal favorite here + SHOP recommended ingredients from the link in my bio!

• 1-2 cups of Epsom Salts or Mineral Flakes - Soothes Muscles and Helps to Detox

• 1 tablespoon Mustard Powder - Helps reduce Inflammation, Improves Blood Flow, Boosts Mood.

• 1-3 pinches of Turmeric Powder - Warming Spice that also brightens and helps rehydrate the skin. ☀️

• 2 tablespoons Grated Ginger Root (put in a tea bag or mesh container and add while the water is running) - Promotes circulation, Aids in Detoxing, Fights Cold and Flu, Helps reduce Anxiety and Smooths Skin.

• 6 drops of Rosemary Essential Oil or blend (safe for the skin - none of that Target stuff 😉) - Helps Dryness and Promotes Radiance in the Skin while Helping to Reduce Stress

Setting Intentions ✨ + Planting Seeds 🌱 for the year ahead!

Happy 2024, everyone! 💫

With 2023 behind us and the start of a new calendar year upon us, it’s customary to feel compelled to jump head first into our resolution plans. BUT in the natural world, winter is still in full swing, meaning that our bodies still need rest and rejuvenation before the active season of spring begins. However, for all of us that want to get a jump start, this doesn’t mean that we have to sit by and do nothing! 🙌🏻

WINTER is the season where death and rebirth are celebrated. So, now that we’ve put 2023 to rest, we can begin setting our 2024 intentions and planting the seeds for the spring when our bodies, minds, and spirits are ready to take action and do something new.

Plan some self care time — Run a bath with a warming and energizing bath tea, wash your face and put on your favorite face mask, stretch your body, listen to some favorite music, grab a journal and start writing.

While you write, focus on more than just your goals for the year ahead. Focus on how you want to FEEL this year! Write down your own mantras and inspirations, and then spend the next month or two meditating on these thoughts and feelings. By doing this, you’re creating the momentum to burst forward with inspired action, which is exactly what you need to bring your dreams to life. 💫🤩

We’re all on this journey together and I’m rooting for you all to take big steps toward your dream life in 2024!

The new year will be here before we know it, and as much as I enjoy the idea of “new year, new you,” I think it gives the wrong idea. So many questions about the skin + what’s happening underneath the surface! There’s so much happening + our skin feels it too. Do you wonder why you have:
