✨ Provider Spotlight ✨

This month we’re highlighting Jeremiah C**n, LPC at ANew.

Jeremiah often describes life as a race — one where each of us is moving at our own pace, in our own season. His goal is simple: to come alongside you wherever you are and help you keep moving forward.

Jeremiah works with both youth and adults, bringing experience from ministry and clinical settings. He has a strong passion for supporting adolescents and has spent several years working with children diagnosed with ASD, as well as serving families through MST therapy.

His approach is steady, relational, and grounded in meeting people where they are — whether that’s a season of growth, challenge, or feeling stuck.

ANew is a mental health practice that provides care with a team approach. Clinicians, offer mental health medication management, therapy and ADHD assessment.

If stress has been building lately, here’s something gentle to try:

The “5–4–3–2–1” grounding exercise.

It can help bring your mind out of overwhelm and back into the present moment.

Pause and notice:
• 5 things you can see
• 4 things you can feel
• 3 things you can hear
• 2 things you can smell
• 1 thing you can taste

There’s no need to rush it.

This isn’t about doing it perfectly — it’s about giving your mind and body a moment to slow down.

Stress pulls us into everything that *might* happen.
Grounding brings us back to what’s actually here.

Small moments like this can make a meaningful difference over time.

March is Women’s History Month, and we’re celebrating the strength of women.

The women who show up.
Who commit.
Who sacrifice.
Who lead with courage.
Who love deeply and carry much.

Strength is beautiful.

The dedication, resilience, and steady presence women bring to their families, workplaces, friendships, and communities matter more than words can say.

And strength also makes room for this:

You are allowed to rest.
You are allowed to rejuvenate.
You are allowed to ask for help.
You are allowed to flourish — not just endure.

At ANew, we believe the therapy room can be a space where you don’t have to be the strong one.

A place of safety.
A place to exhale.
A place to be supported while you continue becoming who you’re meant to be.

We are honored to walk alongside women every day.

✨ Provider Spotlight -- Honora Cummings✨

This month we’re highlighting Honora Cummings, Professional Counselor Intern at ANew Mental Health.

Honora works with children ages 3 and up and plans to pursue certification in Play Therapy, which allows children to process emotions and experiences in ways that are natural and developmentally appropriate.

Honora is currently completing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Wichita State University and brings over 12 years of experience working with children in educational settings.

Before entering the counseling field, Honora worked as a teacher supporting students across a wide range of ages, developmental stages, and emotional needs. Her background gives her a deep understanding of child development, emotional regulation, and the challenges children and families navigate every day.

Working with children has always been Honora’s passion. She loves helping kids feel safe, understood, and empowered as they work through challenges and grow in confidence.

Outside of her professional work, Honora has been married for 32 years and is the proud mother of three children. Her life experiences continue to shape the compassionate and family-centered approach she brings into the therapy room.

We are grateful to have Honora supporting children and families at ANew. 🌿

*Honora offers in-person and telehealth sessions.*
*Self-pay rate: $30 per session.*

If you’ve been feeling more reactive than usual… more emotional… or more shut down…

You’re not broken.

Often, it’s not that you’re “too sensitive.”
It’s that your nervous system has been carrying too much for too long.

When stress lingers, our brains shift into protection mode:
• Snapping more quickly
• Avoiding hard conversations
• Feeling constantly on edge
• Numbing out

These are protective responses — not personal failures.

If you want something small to try this week, here’s one we share:

The 90-Second Reset.

When something triggers you, stress hormones rise and peak for about 60–90 seconds. If you can pause instead of react, you give your body space to settle.

Try this:
• Unclench your jaw
• Let your shoulders drop
• Take 5 slow breaths
• Gently remind yourself: “This will pass.”

You don’t have to do this perfectly.

Healing is less about forcing change and more about helping your nervous system feel safe again.

That’s the kind of work we care about at ANew.
