March is National Social Work Month, and it is a great time to highlight how social workers support patients and families in both home health and hospice care.💙

While the foundation of social work remains the same, the focus of care changes depending on the patient’s needs and stage of care.

In home health, social workers often help patients and families:

🪢Connect with community resources and financial assistance
📢Address social and environmental factors that impact safety at home
📋Plan for long-term support and stability

In hospice care, the focus shifts to:

❤️‍🩹Emotional support and counseling
🤲Guidance through end-of-life decisions and care preferences
🫂Bereavement support for families

Understanding these differences can help families make informed decisions about the type of care that best fits their needs.

Small safety habits at home can make a big difference — especially for our seniors. 💚

Rainbow Care Homes - Home Plus prioritizes a safe, structured environment every day to help prevent avoidable risks and give families peace of mind.

If you’re exploring care options in Wichita, they're here to help. 🏡

National Poison Prevention Week (March 15–21) is a good reminder to take a closer look at everyday safety — especially for older adults at home.

Many common household items can pose risks if not stored or used properly, including medications, cleaning products, and even over-the-counter supplements. For seniors, factors like medication changes, memory concerns, or vision differences can increase the risk of accidental exposure.

Simple steps can make a meaningful difference:
• Keep medications clearly labeled and organized
• Store cleaning supplies separately and securely
• Avoid mixing or transferring products into unlabeled containers
• Review medications regularly with a healthcare provider

At Rainbow Care Homes - Home Plus💚, safety is a core part of how we support our residents each day. As a licensed Home Plus in Wichita, Kansas, we provide individualized care in a smaller, structured environment where routines, supervision, and attention to detail help reduce preventable risks.

If you are exploring safe, supportive care options for a loved one in Wichita, we welcome you to learn more or schedule a tour.🏡

Today we are celebrating our amazing social workers
World Social Work Day 🌏✨and St. Patrick’s Day.🍀💚✨

While is often associated with luck, we know how fortunate our patients and families are to have compassionate social workers supporting them through the home health and hospice journey.

Social workers play a vital role in care — helping families navigate resources, difficult conversations, and important life transitions with compassion and guidance.

Today we are proud to recognize the incredible social workers on our team, Susan Williams and Tonya, who advocate for our patients and support families when it matters most.

🗓️March is National Nutrition Month, and nutrition can play a very different role depending on the stage of care.

In , nutrition often supports recovery and disease management. Many patients follow physician-recommended diets such as heart-healthy or diabetic meal plans to help them feel stronger and maintain their health at home.

In , the focus shifts toward comfort and quality of life. Sometimes that means choosing a favorite food simply because it brings joy. If a patient wants a chocolate milkshake, that moment of comfort matters.

Food can support health, but it can also create meaningful moments with loved ones. 👩‍❤️‍👨 If you would like to explore trusted health resources, visit the Resources section of our website: www.infinityhh.com/resources
