January is Glaucoma Awareness Month!

Glaucoma is a group of eye diseases that can cause vision loss and blindness by damaging the optic nerve. Glaucoma has no early symptoms!! The only way to check for it is to get a comprehensive dilated eye exam.

As of now, there is no cure, but early treatment can prevent vision loss. Anyone can get glaucoma, but people at higher risk include those who are:
– over the age of 60.
– Black/African American and over the age of 40.
– Asian American
- Hispanic/Latino
– Have a family history of glaucoma
