National Nurses Day isn’t just a date on the calendar—it’s a reminder that some of the most powerful acts in the world happen quietly, in hospital rooms, clinics, and homes every single day.

They stand at the intersection of skill and compassion—translating fear into reassurance, and uncertainty into action.
What’s amazing is that their impact often can’t be measured by charts or reports. It’s in the hand they hold, the extra minute they give, the life they help save—or the dignity they help preserve. ❤️👩‍⚕️

These are (examples) of patients who refused to go to a hospital for care. Care they needed. Evidence to be collected. Hope Medical fills this gap. Sexual Assault Awareness Month is coming to an end, but needs to always be a priority. Give below if you want to help us remain available to provide this service. *examples only

Denim Day is a worldwide s*xual violence prevention and education campaign held on the last Wednesday in April (Sexual Assault Awareness Month). Participants wear jeans to protest against victim-blaming attitudes and show solidarity with survivors, stemming from a 1990s Italian court ruling that wrongly implied tight jeans meant consent. 💙

Thank you for your support. Donations enable us to deliver critical medical care and forensic services to survivors who might otherwise be unable or unwilling to access care in traditional hospital environments

St. Mark’s Altar Society hosts two bingos each year — one to support the needs of our altar, and one dedicated to giving back to organizations doing incredible work in our community. This year, we were blessed to donate proceeds to 11 different nonprofits, including Hope Medical, which provides care for survivors of s*xual assault, elder abuse, domestic violence, and human trafficking.

We were honored to personally present the check to the director of Hope Medical, and she was visibly moved. In that moment, it was clear that our small acts of giving ripple far beyond our parish — they touch real people facing unimaginable challenges. It’s not just about bingo. It’s about turning fellowship into meaningful support for those who need it most.

From the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, "In the KBI’s 2024 Domestic Violence, R**e, and Stalking Statistics Report, 80% of victims who reported r**e knew their offender. Offenders were either significant others, family members, or other known individuals in the victim’s life."

We are one week away from Take Back the Night and after party!

No one is ever to blame for their assault, regardless of what they're wearing, drinking, or have consented to in the past. We hope this event will encourage a shift in our culture and reinforce that anyone can enjoy a night out without fear of perpetration.

So join us for a night of community and to have OUR VOICE heard.

Ivy Unruh was shot on Friday. She died three days later. Wichita police say it was the result of domestic violence.

Family and friends say Ivy was "more than a Marine—she was a daughter, a sister, and a friend who brought light into the lives of others. She had the courage to walk away from a dangerous situation, yet tragically, her life was still taken."
