In Parsons today representing SKIL/SC & SE AT!

The Disability Caravan stopped by SKIL on May 3rd 2024.

The Disability Caravan ia a collective of people with disabilities, and our allies driving across America from April to October visiting Cities in each State.

SKIL is happy to be a part of this journey. There was a grilled hot dog and a good time remembering the good work that has been done in the disability movement. There are still plenty of challenges that we still need to work on and event like this help power the passion to move us forward with concurring those barriers.

One of the many joys of my job is delivering an item and seeing the customer smile. Took a walker to an 11 yr old today who had surgery on both legs. He was so ready to get up and walk. As soon as I walked in the door, he immediately started smiling and making a fuss of excitement. He got up super quick and basically ran around house w/walker! Lol. Hope to continue to get to work with him throughout his lifetime. He was a pretty awesome kid!

After 2 years of covid restrictions, we finally got to have a non virtual ATK Access Site meeting. With several new faces and a few missing faces, we had a very successful, educational and fun time together. Meet our state wide ATK family. 😃

A HUGE shoutout to AMBUCS!!! He got his very 1st tryke/bike ever! He has already made numerous trips to the park in his neighborhood. We are also assisting him with finding funds to help make his home more accessible.

Attended the SWK Area Agency on Aging Senior Expo in Dodge City last week. Reached out to the elderly community to show TAP phones, communication devices, one-handed kitchen devices and some DME (durable medical equipment).
