Today we celebrate Disability Independence Day and the anniversary of the American With Disabilities Act. We are proud to partner with Starkey, Inc. for our weekly inclusive beachball game! Our time together shows how together we can do anything! To top off the day, a few residents partipated in a wheelchair glowup!

We're celebrating Christmas In July Baby Shower style! This month we partnered with our Acts of Service Team, Harbor House domestic violence shelter and St Anthony family homeless shelter to care for their littlest clients. Residents, staff and families have been collecting baby supplies all month and we finally were able to send them to the shelters today! Handpan Handpan Dan - Daniel Baird provided the Christmas tunes, and we even had appearances from Mrs Clause and Hawaiian Santa!! (aka, Senior Living Director, Nicholas Dysarz)

Happy Culinarians Day! Resident artist have been secretly creating posters, crochet swirl hangers and a banner to thank our wonderful chefs and cooks! We're so proud of our awesome crew that cooks a bit of love into every bite!

As part of our celebration of Nelson Mandela Day, our extraordinary resident, Charlie Ferris, described her research work with fruit bats in South Africa during the turbulent times of apartheid. Her stories of working with the South African Red Cross, stories of desperation, compassion and courage, fired our imaginations and helped understand this terrible time in history better.

Tomorrow is Nelson Mandela Day, and we were so fortunate to partner with Andover Public Library for this month's Story Corner! Residents read the children's book, "Nelson Mandela" and worked on their shapes and colors. The kiddos were fascinated with Dee's wheelchair horn and we all had fun helping the little ones with a craft. Thank you, Andover Public Library for being such a wonderful community partner!!
