Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander Month continues with a sushi making class with Resident Services Director, Rochelle Collette. Renowned as a heart-healthy meal, sushi provides lean protein, omega-3 fatty acids, and essential minerals while remaining lower in saturated fats. Today we made the global mash-up California Roll! We made some with traditional nori made from seaweed, and some with pink soy paper. Delicious!!

Today we honored those who gave their lives in service to our country. Memorial Day was recognized with a traditional fallen soldier's table, readings from veterans Wayne and Jim, and a prayer from another resident veteran, Pastor Garry. May we always remember! We are grateful to our culinary team for giving beautiful BBQ dishes to honor this day.

It's another education episode in our celebration of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander Month! Rushwood resident and world traveler, Maggie Galbraith and her good friend Susan gave us an incredible view into the islands of Fiji! From native drinks, firewalking, cannibal forks and war masks, the rich history and culture of this country gave us greater understanding of the world around us.
