Many folks in here do not notice how high their shoulders sit until I point it out in the mirror. That constant shrug clamps down on the muscles at the base of your skull and across your upper back.

Most desk workers who come in swear they sit up straight, until we actually look at how they sit when they are focused on the screen.
In the office, I watch how you normally sit, then we adjust your chair height, show you where the screen should line up with your eyes, and teach a simple “reset” move you can do in seconds between emails.

During a visit, I check which joints are not moving well, which muscles are doing all the work, and which ones have basically gone offline. Then we adjust those stuck joints and give you one or two small daily moves to keep them from locking back up.

A better way is short core work that keeps your spine in a safer, neutral position. In the office, I show patients simple moves like gentle bracing while breathing, small leg slides on the table, and basic bridges that do not pull on the neck.

Many of my older Wichita patients mention the same moment: holding onto the counter to stand up because their back and knees feel unsteady.
During a visit, we do gentle spinal adjustments, then go through simple movements right in the office, like how to roll to your side to get out of bed, how to bend to pick up a dropped item without jamming your back, and how far your neck and hips should comfortably turn.

Neck keeps tightening up again right after an adjustment? Office workers and mechanics tell me their shoulders burn by the end of the day, even when the bones feel aligned.
Soft tissue work changes that. I use hands-on muscle work, trigger point pressure, and slow stretching on those rope-like bands in your neck, shoulders, and low back before or after the adjustment.
Once the muscles stop fighting you, your adjustment holds longer, and you are not reaching for pain pills every night.
