✨ The holiday season often comes with an unspoken pressure to show up everywhere, for everyone.

Between gatherings, gift exchanges, work events, family traditions, and last-minute plans, it can feel like saying “yes” is the only acceptable option — even when your body and mind are quietly pleading for a pause.

But here’s the truth:
👉Your energy is not unlimited.
👉Your schedule is not a bottomless well.
👉Your well-being matters more than fulfilling every expectation placed on you.

❌Choosing rest is not rude.
❌Declining an invite is not selfish.
❌Protecting your bandwidth is not something you need to apologize for.

Honoring your limits is an act of self-respect — and it makes the moments you do choose to say yes to more meaningful, grounded, and present.

As you move through the holidays, may you give yourself permission to choose what’s right for you, even if it’s simply a quiet night in and a deep breath. 💛

A quick scheduling reminder as we move into the holiday rush:

Many of our providers availability is more limited in December, as they will be taking time off for Christmas and New Year’s.

Please make any changes to your appointment at least 24 hours in advance so they can offer that time to someone else.

Late cancels and no-shows will be charged this month in accordance with each individual providers policy.

Thank you for helping keep things running smoothly ❤

✨ This season can stir up so many feelings — joy, nostalgia, overwhelm, loneliness, pressure — and needing support in the middle of all of that is completely valid.

Yet many people hesitate to reach out in December, worrying they’re “too much,” taking up space, or adding to someone’s busy schedule. The truth is far gentler: asking for help is an act of strength, not inconvenience.

👉Your emotions don’t pause for the holidays.
👉Your needs don’t become less important because the calendar is full.
👉And reaching out doesn’t make you a burden — it makes you human.

If this month feels heavier, more complicated, or simply more exhausting than you expected, you deserve care just as much now as any other time of year. Support is meant for moments like these — the tender ones, the tangled ones, the ones that feel like too much.

You don’t have to wait for January to begin tending to yourself. You’re worthy of support today, and every day. 💛

The holiday season has a way of turning our to-do lists into tangled tinsel — bright, but overwhelming. This is your gentle reminder that not everything needs to be done right now. Some tasks can rest quietly on the shelf until the new year, and giving yourself permission to pause is an act of self-care in itself.

As you move through these next few weeks, ask yourself: What’s truly essential, and what can wait?

Maybe it’s that organizing project you keep postponing. Maybe it’s the inbox cleanup, the deep house refresh, or the big decision you’ve been mulling over.

👉It’s okay to choose rest.
👉It’s okay to slow your pace.
👉It’s okay to protect your energy in a season that pulls it in many directions.

Let this be your invitation to simplify where you can and soften where you need to. Your well-being matters more than a perfectly completed checklist. 💛

If you’re feeling stretched thin or need support navigating the emotional weight of the holidays, Flourish is here to help.

We’re excited to share that we now carry “I’m a Good Mom", a beautifully written and illustrated board book by a local author, Emma Hilger, from our community. 💛

This little book packs a powerful message:
✨ You are doing better than you think.
✨ Motherhood doesn’t require perfection.
✨ Small moments of presence matter more than getting everything “right.”

We love this book because it reminds moms (new, seasoned, overwhelmed, or somewhere in between) that compassion and grace go a long way — and that being a “good mom” is about connection, not comparison.

You can grab a copy in our office this month! They make the sweetest gift for yourself, a friend, or any mom who could use a gentle reminder that she is enough.

✨ If December feels heavier than usual, there’s a reason.

This time of year often stacks extra expectations on our shoulders — gatherings to attend, budgets to stretch, emotions to navigate, traditions to uphold, and the internal wish to “make it all special.” It’s a lot for any nervous system to hold.

Yet many people interpret their stress as a personal flaw, as if struggling in December means they’re failing at something everyone else magically excels at. The truth? Stress this time of year is common — not a character indictment.

👉Your brain is responding the way a human brain responds to increased pressure.
👉Your body is reacting the way a human body reacts to added demands.
👉You are not doing anything wrong — you’re simply moving through a dense season with a human heart.

This month, try shifting from self-criticism to self-compassion.
Ask yourself what you need.
Loosen expectations where you can.
Let “good enough” be enough.

And if you could use extra support as you navigate the emotional weight of the holidays, Flourish is here to walk with you. 💛

We’ve been so moved by the support for our Resource Drive to help individuals and families impacted by the government shutdown — thank you to everyone who’s donated, shared, and shown up for our community. 💫

Because of YOUR generosity and the growing need, we’ve added more drop-off locations to make it easier to give!

📍 New Drop-Off Sites:

▪First Church of the Brethren, located at 1103 N. Jefferson (Shout out to Erin from Riverside Family Music for hosting this site!)
▪MVMT Fitness, located at 4608 W. Maple St, Suite 114 (Shoutout to Tiffany and her team at MVMT for hosting this site!)

🗓 Donations accepted through December 31!

We’re continuing to work closely with local community organizers and mobilizers to make sure every item donated goes where it will have the most impact.

This effort comes from some of our core values, collaboration and advocacy, and from recognizing the privilege and responsibility we have to give back. 💪

Thank you for being part of this effort — together, we’re making a real difference.
