Let's spread awareness for tinnitus!
Millions of people live every day with tinnitus which is the perception of ringing, buzzing, whooshing, or other sounds without an external source. While tinnitus is invisible, its impact on sleep, focus, and mental health is very real.
The good news is awareness, research, and treatment options are continuously growing. Tinnitus treatment options include counseling, relaxation techniques, sound therapy, behavioral therapy, hearing aids, sound generators, and bimodal neuromodulation therapy
A fairly new innovative option to highlight is Lenire®, an FDA-approved, non-invasive tinnitus treatment that uses bimodal neuromodulation — combining sound stimulation through headphones with gentle electrical stimulation to the tongue.
As research grows, there may be new treatment options in the future which can be tailored to help each individual.
Tinnitus looks different for everyone, and there’s no one-size-fits-all solution, but help is available. If you or someone you love is affected, consider speaking with an audiologist or hearing healthcare professional about evaluation and treatment options.
