TODAY IS DENIM DAY! Join us in wearing jeans in support of Sexual Assault Prevention Month.

Denim Day is a long-running, internationally recognized grassroots sexual violence awareness campaign. It's all about making a visual statement by rocking your jeans on this day to challenge misconceptions about sexual violence and survivors.

VA facilities are a place of healing and recovery. A VA free of harassment and sexual assault is super important for everyone who walks through our doors – whether you're seeking treatment, supporting a Veteran, or working to provide the best care for Veterans. Just participating in Denim Day won’t stop sexual violence, but your commitment to supporting awareness helps keep VHA a welcoming and safe space for all. Plus, Denim Day is a great chance to educate others about VHA's efforts to promote a positive environment.

GET READY! This Wednesday, April 29 is Denim Day! Join us in wearing jeans to bring attention to Sexual Assault Prevention Month.

This campaign started in the late 1990s after an Italian Supreme Court ruling overturned a r**e conviction. The justices said consent was implied because the survivor's jeans were tight and would need help to be removed.

The friendly and fun competition found in VA’s Golden Age Games helps older Veterans stay sharp, physically and mentally.

VA Golden Age Games began in 1985, long before “senior athletics” was a mainstream idea. VA recognized that aging Veterans needed more than medical care. They also needed motivation, goals, and a sense of connection. So, the Games were born with just a few hundred competitors.
Today, they’ve grown into a major event where thousands of athletes and supporters from across the country come to take part. It is a living tribute to the fact that service continues after age 50 and that strength can last a lifetime.

The Veterans Health Administration is marking 80 years of supporting Veterans of all ages and abilities just like the Golden Age Game athletes. Learn more.

White Ribbon Veterans Affairs - pledge to never commit, excuse or stay silent about sexual harassment, sexual assault or domestic violence against others

White Ribbon VA is a national call to action to eliminate sexual harassment, sexual assault, and domestic violence across the Department of Veterans Affairs by promoting a positive change in culture so that the actions outlined in the pledge become the organizational norm. White Ribbon VA is an awareness movement where All—regardless of their sex—can participate.

We invite you to join us in making a pledge to stop violence against others at https://www.whiteribbonusa.org/whiteribbon-va-pledge and to symbolically wear the white ribbon.
