Say hello to Barbara Corle, our July Resident of the Month here at LakePoint Augusta! 🏡💙

Born in Winfield, Kansas, Barbara was raised in Moline alongside her sister, Susan. Barbara devoted more than two decades of her life to caring for others — working over 22 years at the Howard Twilight Nursing Home as a CNA, CMA, and in medical records. She also served as the Executive Director at Howard Housing for nine years, demonstrating her commitment to community and service.

🐴 In her free time, Barbara has always loved riding horses and has a passion for collecting beautiful Breyer horse models.

When asked what she enjoys most about living at LakePoint Augusta, Barbara shared: “I like LPA Nursing Home because it seems like a home.”

Today, we’re thrilled to celebrate Shari Lynn Thompson, CMA/CAN, a treasured part of our LakePoint Augusta family! With 9.5 years of dedication, Shari has grown and blossomed alongside our team, starting her journey on night shift and moving to second shift just 10 months later. LakePoint proudly supported her as she completed her Med Aid training, leading her to her current spot on first shift!

Shari is known for her warm heart and gentle spirit, which not only bring comfort to her residents but also to her *enormous* collection of plants and cacti! Yes, Shari sometimes talks to her plants, and we think they’re thriving because of the extra love. 🌱💚

Shari feels deeply fulfilled in her role, knowing that her care, support, and kindness make a difference in the lives of those around her. She believes that even the smallest gestures can have a big impact.

Outside of work, Shari’s passion for gardening truly shines. She spends her free time in her flower garden, baking, canning, and sharing her homegrown bounty with friends and family.

Meet our newest team member, Anthony Gonzalez! Anthony has been a fantastic addition to LakePoint Augusta as our MDS Coordinator, bringing positive energy and a collaborative spirit to our team. Here’s a fun fact about him: he’s the oldest of *8* siblings! 🎉 So, teamwork and tackling challenges are second nature for him.

Anthony is really enjoying the supportive vibe here at LakePoint, finding it less stressful than his previous job, which lets him focus on what he loves most—helping resolve issues and working closely with others. Outside of work, you’ll find Anthony spending quality time with his kids or relaxing with a fishing pole in hand. 🎣👨‍👧‍👦
