The Wichita Business Journal has named our very own Fe Vorderlandwehr among the "Wichita Women Who Lead." Fe celebrated her 10th anniversary as executive director of the Central & Western Kansas chapter last month. Prior to joining the Alzheimer's Association she spent 13 years with the McConnell Air Force Base Support Group planning events and programs for service members and their families. "That experience really shaped my understanding of what it means to support others and be part of something bigger than yourself," she said.

Fe's advice for women wanting to pursue a career with non-profit organizations? "Start by trusting that your voice and perspective matter," she said. "Nonprofits run on passion, compassion, and community, and women bring incredible strength to all three. Don’t wait to feel 'perfectly ready.' Surround yourself with people who believe in you and who challenge you in the best ways."

We love seeing brain health science in the spotlight. 🧠

The New York Times featured the Alzheimer’s Association’s U.S. POINTER study, highlighting how a guided lifestyle program can improve cognition and support brain health. Now, they’re inviting the public to put that science into action with a 5-Day Brain Health Challenge starting January 5.

If you’re looking for a healthy way to start the new year — this is a great place to begin.
