Hello all from the Youth Department. Sunday's Dec 5th, 12th and 19th the Youth will be talking about the Nativity story - the reason for Christmas! We will be watching this super delightful movie "The Star." If you have not seen this please watch it with your children or by yourself. It is so cute! It will make you laugh and bring great cheer! We will also be finishing making our Christmas video to show the congregation on the 19th so bring your child on the 5th or 12th to participate!

Happy Fall from the Youth Department!
Finally, it feels like fall! I appreciate this cooler weather and I am sure you do as well!
For the month of October, the youth will be exploring “The Sacredness of Life” by reading and discussing the book “Brother Eagle Sister Sky,” a message by Chief Seattle. This is a beautiful depiction of Native American Indian life that shows how we are all connected through God and nature. This year Oct 31st falls on Sunday so we will be having a “Halloween/Day of the Dead Celebration!”
Have your children come in costume and bring a picture of a loved one or pet to place it on a special alter and honor them. We will watch a short film to learn about the Mexican tradition “Day of the Dead,” as well as having games and treats. This is always a fun time for the kids so I hope they can make it!

We will discuss the Bible story of "Jacob and His Brothers" (Genesis 37-45,) in a very simplified context and make "Peace Soup " after we find out what makes each of us peaceful.
