We’re thrilled to celebrate one of our very own—Marideth Sims—on her well-deserved nomination for Wichita’s Prestigious 40 Under 40 award, recognized last night by the Wichita Business Journal!

Mary wears many hats with grace and heart. She’s an accomplished professor at WSU and serves as the Youth Service Development Lead here at JST Therapy Solutions. Her work is driven by compassion, creativity, and a deep commitment to helping others foster their own resilience and independence.

Mary’s cheerfulness and unwavering spirit light up every space she’s in, and we couldn’t be prouder to have her as part of our team. Congratulations, Mary—your impact is powerful, and your future is bright! 💫✨

⭐️JST Spotlight: RJ Jenkins, KCPS, CNA ⭐️

When we describe what JST is, it is hard to do without talking about Raylan Jenkins (RJ)—because RJ truly epitomizes the heart of JST in his service for others. His contagious smile, big heart, and warm hugs have turned around the roughest of days for of so many!

He works to make our residents in nursing homes feel important and valued through their shared lived experiences, listening and connecting them to resources—not just to mental health services, but to the community around them. RJ has a gift for helping people reconnect with their purpose and to see the hopeful side of any situation.

A Certified Nurse Assistant, RJ also shines his bright light through his coaching as a personal trainer and wellness expert. He continues his advocacy for others through his volunteerism with many local programs geared towards the most underserved in our community.

We’re so grateful for RJ and the joy he brings to the world! Thank you for all that you do and for who you are RJ! 🫶

Our amazing JST team member, Heather, brought the magic of connection to the great outdoors with a picnic and painting day at Naftzger Park. The kids swapped screens for sunshine and turned blank canvases into their very own masterpieces.

There’s something powerful about sharing a meal, a paintbrush, and a little bit of storytelling. For the youth we serve at JST, many navigating life in foster care group homes, moments like these aren’t just fun, they’re reminders that they matter and that they’re seen.

⭐️JST Spotlight: Jae Hedrick, LMSW ⭐️

Let us brag on Jae Hedrick for a second—because wow, are we lucky to have her! Jae is one of our amazing Therapists and Peer Support workers here at JST Therapy, and she brings so much heart to everything she does.

She spends her days working closely with nursing home residents, making sure they feel supported, heard, and connected—not just to mental health services, but to the community around them. Jae has a real gift for helping people feel seen, and she’s always finding creative ways to bring resources together to support those who need it most.

Outside of JST, she also leads the charge at Gathered, where she helps coordinate big-picture efforts to keep families strong and reduce the number of kids entering foster care. She’s kind, passionate, and has this beautiful way of showing up for people—especially the ones who are too often overlooked.

Someone once called her a “pitbull in a flower crown,” and honestly, we couldn’t describe her better. She’s tough when she needs to be, incredibly loving, and never afraid to speak up for those who can’t.

We’re so grateful for Jae and the care she brings to her work every single day.

Peer support is not all fun and games… but sometimes, it kind of is! At JST, we believe mental health recovery should be accessible, engaging, and even enjoyable. That’s why we often bring the clients we serve together to build relationships through games and shared experiences.

This isn’t just playtime. It’s people of all ages supporting each other, learning new skills to manage emotional responses, and setting self-directed wellness goals—because when recovery tools feel more like connection and less like homework, the strategies are more likely to stick and we can find more joy in our recovery journeys.

We believe we can make healing something we can all look forward to. One game, one goal, and one connection at a time.

So proud of all the amazing people who share their time, talents and hearts with us and with our community. We truly love the work we do and the people we do it with and for at JST Therapy Solutions "Therapy that Cares".

This week, our Youth Services team, Marideth Sims, helped cultivate a service heart and mindset with our kiddos in care. We were so proud of the kids who served with grace and kindness. Thank you Catholic Charities, Inc. - Diocese of Wichitafor letting us be a part of your mission to serve at The Lord's Diner. After wrapping up, the kids immediately asked when they could return!
