At some point, you deserve a physician that listens to you, understands what you are mean and engaged with help you solve your chronic health concerns!!!!

New England Journal of Medicine published research that 52% of all diagnosis and treatment is failure in the US. Even worse ...

You are interrupted within the first 15 seconds

I hope you are ready for this factual journey through Dr. G's crazy brain of nonsensical logic...

Are you fatter than a whale? & what's that worth?

So whales almost went extinct because they were harvested for their fat. So how fat is the animal they harvest fat from?
A blue whale is about 35% fat.
A man is obese if his fat is over 25%
A woman is obese if her fat is over 35%
41.9% of the American population is obese

That means nearly 1/2 of Murika is more obese than a whale!?! OMG

Now on the flip side, you can get nearly 7 Kroners per kilo (.30 cents a pound). 60 pounds of human fat might fetch $40. Your obesity is only worth $40 on the black market!!! That is a horrible return on investment for what it took to create that 60 pounds. With most Americans gaining 2 pounds a year now, it took your body 30 years to store up and extra $40. TERRIBLE ROI!!!!

So maybe it's time to schedule a consult and see if we can create a long term sustainable weightloss program for you that doesn't require medications or supplements that will bankrupt you financially, mentally and physiologically.

They got human DNA in the hot dogs and soon will be harvesting Americans for fat, it's probably time to get serious. LOL

Another interesting fact. Tufts University did this research on all weightloss programs and found 4 truths:

1. The majority who started a program quit, mainly because it was hard. Because they never dealt with why they gained the weight in the first place.

2. The majority who stuck with a program, never lost any weight. Because they never dealt with stress, which causes the liver to make sugar.

3. The majority twho stuck with any of the diets and did lose weight, they lost an average of 40 pounds.

4. The majority who lost weight gained that much back and 50% more within 6 weeks of quitting the diet. Because they never changed the lifestyle.

Our patients lose an average of 40 pounds but keep it off. Sustainablility is the only goal for weight loss. It has to be meaningful changes that can be used to maintain that new weight for life.

Maybe it's time for that second opinion and a better plan.

How to create chronic bacterial vaginosis, yeast infections and UTIs with just your clothes from someone who taught microbiology! This is like the funnest uncomfortable conversation I have every few weeks with patients.

When I would do microbiology culturing experiments with the students, I would have have them swab some surface, then rub that swab across a petri dish and then put in a warmer at 39 degrees celcius or 102.2 degrees farenheit over night. The next day, huge blooms of growth.

Now what if take the va**na, which is the perfect culture of bacteria and yeast and mucous and ph that is a one directional flow till it discharges out. That is full of healthy amounts of bacteria and yeast. But what if we trap the heat in the va**nal area for long periods of time, could we overgrow healthy bacteria into chronic vaginitis and UTIs???

Of course. Synthetic yoga pants, underwear, spankx, and pantyhose all trap that heat to cook the va**na and it's healthy flora into a petri dish nightmare of odor and overgrowth!

Va**na rule from Dr. G:
1. Let your va**na breath - sleep naked or in men's cotton boxers
2. If you are gonna wear underwear - wear cotton, organic is preferable, but your va**na needs to breath all day and keep normal temperatures. Synthetic with a cotton patch isn't the same.
3. Wear your sexy synthetics panties for short periods of time, maybe just during date night or sexy time!
4. Wear stockings, NOT pantyhose!!!
5. DO NOT USE SPRAYS, SOAPS, OR ANYTHING ELSE ON YOUR VA**NA to disrupt the bacteria and healthy yeasts. Just water and a wash rage at most. Or if you are from the south, a warsh rag! LOL Soaps and sprays disrupt the ph, mucous and the blend of healthy bacteria and yeast that are supposed to be there.
6. NEVER ANTIBACTERIAL SOAPS, especially on the va**na! Good bacteria is good bacteria.
7. Make sure your man be takin care of his junk before it meets your junk! Keeps that dirty boy clean so you can be dirty with him. Same with his funky hands.
8. Never B to V if you are so inclined. That is instant BV, get it?
9. Mommy bladder isn't real, you need to get your food sensitivity testing done and stop consuming Murika food that overrides your parasympathic nerves that prevent you from peeing a little bit when you cough or jump on trampolines!
10. If you take antibiotics, they will disrupt your va**na bacteria, so make sure to reset them with va**nal probiotics, probiotics, and fermented foods.

So when it comes down to it, mainly STOP causing the problems and leave your va**na alone so it can breath, keep a healthy temperature, and not be interferred with!

That's my advice from the Functional Lifestyle Medicine approach over the last 20 years of dealing with these issues with patients and clients from around the world, but mostly Murika!!!

Food prices too high?
Great! Motivation to EAT LESS FOOD!!!

Two things about these food prices.
1. America is doing way better than the rest of the world on these food prices but ALL food prices have spiked since the invasion of Ukraine because of "instability" and food companies are now making RECORD PROFITS! It's not political, it's profiteering like most things we get screwed over on.

2. You are prolly eating 75% too much food anyways. So buy better food and eat a hell of a lot less food!!!

Some examples:
So a salad plate the size of your hand is your portion. A handful of any real food is typically your serving size. So one meat ball is one serving, but 3 meat balls is 3 servings, or 3 ounce steak is one serving while a 9 ounce steak is 3 servings. Eating 3 but expecting to look like one ain't gonna happen.

A serving size is different for you versus your children. Your children are typically eating adult proportions and then way too much too.

Eat mostly vegetarian and then add little of that expensive healthy meat for flavoring and you will save a lot of money.

A pound of beef is 4-5 handfuls or 4-5 hamburgers, one serving is about 1/5 of a pound burger.

The healthiest, happiest, and longest living populations eat 75% less food on average than Murikans.

Research shows that the animals / humans that eat less, actually live longer.

Proportions trick you into eating more, making you fatter, and costing you more as these companies profit of this.

A serving of coffee is not a venti
A serving of meat is not a 9 oz steak
A serving is soda is not a 20 oz bottle
A serving of desert is not a slice of cake

Eat healthier, eat dramatically less, create a normal sized body while saving money and stop causing problems.

Sounds like a great deal. A med that makes your bones look better on xray but you end up with fractures and heart attacks ... where do I sign up?

Also just so you know, 99% of your calcium is in your bones but only 39% of your bone is calcium! The rest is potassium, sodium, magnesium, carbonate, and phosphate.

Bone strength is through muscle strength. Strong muscles = strong bones. You can't just freaking take calcium supplements and get stronger bones, you can't take osteoclastic meds to suppress the reabsorption of old weak bone so they new bone adds to the old bone making it look better on x-rays, that's called paget's disease and results in weaker bones and spontaneous fractures.

Bones are a result of DOING, not taking stuff. You want strong bones, eat the same food as the strongest animals and then do something. Then do more somethings. Walk 10,000 steps a day as your goal. Mow, shovel, sweep and vacuum by hand. Have meaningful movement and then exercise with resistance to ensure that you keep staying strong.

Also DEXA scans are not the same as a FRAX tool measurement for your risk of fractures. ALWAYS use your scores in that lifestyle tool that focuses on 10 factors that predict your risk!!!!

Move it or lose it. Eat for your bones, move for your bones, be strong for your bones. Osteoporosis is not a supplement or medication solution.

You need to consider if the solution is making things better or worse and is it sustainable????

The most important thing you can know about disease is that it is a normal expected outcome from an abnormal diet and lifestyle. We cause these sudden epidemics.

Uterine fibroids went from rare to epidemic in just 20 years from the 1980s!

Estradiol, one of your 3 estrogens for men and women, is the hormone of puberty that grows your uterus, ovaries, breasts leading to normal growth of these tissues. However if you are constantly getting estradiol from your diet and chemicals, then you constantly go through puberty until these tissue growths become a health problem. Then we call it a "disease" like fibroid, endometriosis, polycystic ovaries, fibrocystic breasts, and for men gynecomastia and benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH).

Remember though, it's never "why" are these estrogenic tissues growing, it's "OF COURSE" they should be. Women are going through a process of constant puberty and men are going through a process of second puberty.

There are consequences to these chemicals ranging from naturally occurring estradiol from dairy that is designed to grow a baby cow from 75 pounds to 500-1000 pounds in less than a year to xenoestrogens from plastics to pesticides.

Think about this, your basic cucumber that is not organic is loaded with 30 estrogenic pesticides out of the 86 total pesticides. There is a price we pay. Same with estradiol hormone replacement therapy and estradiol birth control. Then there is also the plastics like 1, 3, 6, and 7 that are strong estrogens like your Keurig which stores the water in estrogenic plastic 7, then cooks it in plastic 6 and then hyperheats the plastic 1 pods until you get estradiol overload and start growing stuff that shouldn't be growing.

Then what? Keep doing the same thing that causes it while taking drugs for the rest of your life or chopping out parts in your body. Or... maybe stop causing the problems.

The only thing that keeps people chronically sick and dying prematurely is ignorance or complacency. People either don't know or don't care and not knowing is a huge liability to your health!!!!

The cheapest and easiest solution is prevention and natural treatments.

Patients always ask what to do about stress, but the answer may vary based on your type of stress.

Is it epinephrine stress or cortisol stress?

For Cortisol (your general stress hormone) you should adopt regular and meaningful meditation and mindful practices that ensure greater reduction in life, work, and family stressors. It basically helps silent the chaos so you don't notice it much anymore. That's creating resiliency and neuroplasticity.

For Epinepherine (your fight, flight, freeze, and fawn) you should burn it off through vigorous exercise. It's fight or flight, so you better punch a bag or run it off. But remember that freezing and fawning are also very important components that are often ignored. Becoming still to hope the stress goes away is highly stressful. Becoming complacent is just as bad for your hormones and health. So even if you are a freeze or fawn person to high stress, burn that off!!!!

Then the best lifestyle approach to mitigating or ameliorating chronic stress that you can't control is a combination of both as a constant routine in your healthy lifestyle.

10K steps a day, HIIT exercises, weights, meditation, practicing the pause, belly breathing, sunlight, social time, healthier foods when stressed, water, and bookends to your work are powerful things that change you as a person from the inside and out and actually rewire your brain.

If you do this all right, you will eventually learn that "why" isn't really the question, details don't matter, and it was never other people or situations. It was always how you wire yourself for happiness, peace, and balance in a world of s**tty people doing s**tty things.

You got this.

This is how our patient flow goes to overcome chronic diseases, depression, and anxiety, so you can finally feel healthier, happier, and more balanced and live a life that is actually worth living!!!

1. Status quo sucks and you need to make a change. At first, it's all just "intentions". We take those intentions, inspire, educate and direct into actions.

2. OMG making actual changes that are scary and uncomfortable in the beginning but at least you are finally doing something for yourself instead of martyring for everyone else.

3. As you practice these changes, we hold your hand and support and encourage you through the process!!! We build on each success and add more changes so you start to gain momentum towards your new lifestyle. The practice or pattern becomes the most important thing in the beginning.

4. Each week, you become more and more consistent as we have to hold your hand less and less and things becomes less scary and unpredictable and consistent. You are starting to become a different person than you have ever been before and you are sticking with it.

5. It's always important to know that it takes about 6 week to create a new habit, but it takes 26 weeks of practicing that new habit before it truly becomes a lifestyle. You will definitely go through the trials and tribulations of losing friends, figuring out who is there to sabotage your efforts, overcoming your own insecurities with each new challenge. But by now, you flow easier and faster back on the path. You learn that it was never perfection, it was the process that was the most important. Very quickly you learn that you can turn off and on your chronic conditions with your lifestyle changes which should empower you that you are in control of your health.

Health and wellness were never a war that could be won or lost, it was a constant dialog with your diet and lifestyle ... all of which you control.

6. This is the magical place where you become the light for others. You no longer have to tell others how to be healthier, happier, and more balanced, they already see it in you. People notice you have changed, your lifestyle changed, your friends have changed, your healthy boundaries have changed, and finally you can't even imagine returning back into the person you used to be. You are the light!

Health and wellness is pretty easy over the last 20 years of teaching patient and client from around the world, just teach them to stop causing their chronic health problems. It really is that simple. Which also means it is one of the cheapest and most sustainable ways for people to finally find hope and success.

This is why I love my job.

Have you ever considered what your life would be like if you were healthier, happier, and emotionally balanced?

Like, if you loved your body and mind, how would you eat differently? How would you move differently? How would you love differently? How would you invest your time, energy and money differently?

Think about it ... what would a life worth living look like for you, your relationships and even your children? I would argue that the only thing that matters in the end, is your peace and happiness. Then building from there as you allow others to join your healthy boundaries that ensure that you are healthier, happier, and balanced.

I remember the first time a therapist asked me "What if I was single and happy, what if I was successful and happy, what if I was a dad and still happy. Honestly, I couldn't even fathom what she was talking about. My mom was a martyr that was always losing her s**t on us. So I only knew martyr, sacrifice, and 'looking like everything is okay', but I didn't know what it was like actually being okay.

That question changed everything. I started figuring out how to be enough, how to stop martyring, how to stop reacting to what I wasn't happy with. My mind started asking better and better questions and my lifestyle started seeking out better and better answers.

Fast forward 7 years later and I am stronger, healthier, happier, emotionally intelligent, and in a loving relationship that doesn't require ignoring toxicity (except when she wears slides with socks to the store!!!). It's a whole different world in the same world. I see differently now, I feel differently now, and it's hard to explain but it's was worth it. I feel whole and most importantly, I feel like enough.

In the end, it's never other people, never situations, it's always our wiring.

This is why I love my job so much as a doctor helping others find their light, hold their hand on their journey, and see that spark of hope become a bonfire of resilency!!!

Watching patients change is one of the most fulfilling things I will ever do outside of healing myself first.

Maybe it's your time to start your journey so you can stop martyring and start thriving! ;)

Everything that you want in love, esteem, health, thriving, parenting, living, freedom is just past that coefficient of friction that keeps you paralyzed in your status quo.

Thriving and living a healthy, happy, and balanced life is right there in front of you. You just need a mentor, a map of your hero's journey and to finally cross that threshold from the old you towards the new you. It truly is that simple. But in life there is no such thing as half way crooks. You might be shook, but you either are moving in a direction or you are stagnating.

However, if you do nothing, soon you will find your breaking point of health or hormonal exhaustion. You will either slowly wither away into a mere shell of yourself or you will persevere. Either way, everything is a choice and nothing happens until the pain and frustration of the current situation is greater than the pain of change before change will ever occur.

Knowing that, people tend to wait until everything falls apart before they are motivated to become better. But why do we wait for trauma to destroy our lives and families? Why not be proactive and create healthy and happy before it destroys you?

For those of us on the other side of this equation, there is hope.

What I learned to be enough is what I teach patients to be enough.

The day you are enough is the day you get to be your most authentic self and still accept that you will be the enemy of other people's stories. If you can live with that, you get to be enough!!!

I have come to terms with the fact that some people love me, some people don't, and others even hate me. I cannot change their impressions of me, but I can just be my most authentic, vulnerable, transparent self.

The two things can and have to exist in the same reality. Let people love you who know you, let people hate you that don't know you. It's okay either way. We have all been through the trials and tribulations of relationships, jobs, divorce, parenting, family, friendships and the trolls. We all can hear lurid stories of a version of us that someone doesn't like. That will always be as a part of life, so let that be and move forward in your own Hero's Journey of life and transformation.

Don't vibe through karma, just vibe through grace. We are all just broken vessels trying to the best we can to recover from our own traumas and disappointments in life and love.

Your only goal in life is to win through being healthy, happy, and balanced among the chaos of what we cannot control.

When clients and patients ask how I can help their anxiety, I show them these two pictures.

Most people feel they are "fine" when everything is on fire because they are so used to it. Our patients / clients have a different definition or outlook for "fine". We don't want to cope, we want to teach you how your hormones are made for happiness, stress libido and aging, how you are exhausting them like most Americans, and then rewire to where the same people and the same situations no longer affect you the same way.

In 1948, we learned the brain is malleable, around 2011, we learned that the brain is constantly pulsating and evolving the wiring for better or worse. Our brain is either constantly wiring for fear, anxiety, inadequacy, and stress or our brain is constantly wiring for peace among the chaos that we can't control. You are either meditating or maditating, either you control it whether you know or not.

Taking the most severe patients with anxiety and watching their eyes fill with hope, your lifestyle changing and then eventually seeing them realize that situations and people don't have to change for them to be happy and at peace.

This becomes a beautiful space where coping in the burning room i is no longer the goal, peace and happiness in our own happy place is the goal. It's sometimes hard to explain from the other side, but it's never other people, it's us. It's our wiring. It's our perception.

I have been through this and I cannot explain how much life is so much more peaceful, happy, and enjoyable on the other side.

If you are suffering, maybe it's time to find that peace.

The drugs you chronically take cost a lot more than you think!

1. All have side effects
2. All have gene dependent effects
3. All have drug induced nutrient depletions leading to new symptoms
4. Most have drug-food interactions (since nearly all drugs come from spices, roots, and herbs.
5. Most have drug-drug interactions that cause problems that can either decrease the effectiveness or accentuate it causing problems.
6. Most have drug-supplement interactions
7. Many prescriptions are for off-label uses not approved or studied.
8. Many have a majority of research where placebo was superior
9. Many get black box warning by the FDA and are still prescribed without the patient knowing
10. Some even get banned but are reintroduced because we don't have a new drug to substitute

and the list goes on ...

Worst of all, most have a high NNT or numbers needed to treat (which means 1667 people have to take aspirin to prevent a heart attack before 1 person actually benefits. This means 1666 have to suffer side effects, nutrient depletions, drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, drug-supplement interactions so 1 person might be helped!)
