🌸🐰 Happy Easter from MOVE Pediatric Therapy!

We’re sending you all the paws-itive vibes this Easter Sunday!
And who better to lead the way than our favorite four-legged team member, Milo, rocking his bunny ears like a pro. 🐶

Milo brings smiles, comfort, and encouragement to our kiddos every day—and today, he’s dressed for the occasion. 💐

This season reminds us of new beginnings, hope, and the beauty of small steps forward. From all of us at MOVE (especially Milo!), we’re grateful to be part of your journey—and we’re wishing your family a day filled with peace and love.

Ever wonder how you know you're hungry, thirsty, or feeling anxious? That’s thanks to interoceptive awareness—your body’s way of sending important "clues."

Think of it as your internal detective, helping you understand feelings like anxiety or physical needs like hunger or thirst.

At MOVE Pediatric Therapy, we’re here to help kids unlock this superpower! 🧠

By teaching interoceptive awareness, children learn to identify their emotions and take action—whether it’s calming down, eating a snack, or just recognizing they’re feeling under the weather.

💡 But what happens when the signals get scrambled?

Some children may struggle with processing these cues, leading to:

🌈 "Big" emotions that feel hard to manage.
🥪 Skipping meals or overeating.
🚰 Constant thirst or excessive drinking.
🚽 Toileting challenges, like constipation.
🤕 Not noticing when they’re hurt—or reporting pain too often.

Understanding these patterns is the first step toward helping kids feel empowered in their own bodies! 💪

🎃🍁Fun Fall Activity🍁🎃

Have some left over pumpkins that are about to get the boot? Instead of throwing them away, turn them into a fun activity that can help to develop your child's hand-eye coordination! All you need are:
1. A pumpkin
2. Golf Tees
3. A small hammer or mallet

This activity also helps facilitate increased focus, fine motor skills, perseverance, safety awareness, muscle control, and bilateral coordination.

Have fun! 🔨🎃

‼Wednesday Win‼ Grant is officially an OT graduate! Grant's therapist, Sandy, says that he has worked so hard and grown in independence, courage, strength, coordination, and is ready to take on the world. We would like to extend a big CONGRATS to Grant and his family for working hard both in the clinic and at home to meet his goals and achieve this milestone. 💙 Awesome job Grant!

What is the Window of Tolerance? 🪟

It’s a comfortable place where we function and thrive in everyday life. In this window, we feel safe, open, flexible, curious, and present, allowing us to handle life’s daily triggers without losing our cool.

For Chase, going to the doctor and seeing all the scary tools used to be outside his window of tolerance. But through practice in a safe space, he’s expanded his window, helping him regulate his nervous system and stay calm even during challenging situations. 💪

What is a visual boundary? 👀

Did you know that sometimes children line up toys to create a visual boundary? This process of lining up toys can actually help some children to understand where their body is in space, helping them to feel more safe in their play. This can be a result of their inability to converge their eyes (or move their eyes inward toward each other when looking at close up objects) meaning they lack depth perception. In other words, they see in 2D instead of 3D.

Now if you see your child lining up their toys think of their visual system and how they might just be helping to self regulate and feel safe in their space of PLAY!
