Sassy is sad that the office will be closed for the 4th of July tomorrow.

She looks forward to seeing you all on Monday morning.

She would also like to remind everyone to be safe. Please wear shoes and safety glasses if you are going to be lighting fireworks this year.

We are once looking for more help. We are in need of another licensed therapist or clinical social worker as well as an additional dietitian to join our team. Let us know if you are interested. Our beloved Sassy had her hip surgery this last week so she will be out of the office recovering for the next few weeks.

She will miss seeing all of you as she starts her physical therapy and continued weight loss journey

She will be back as soon as possible as she truly loves her work home

Sassy DO(g) is once again headed to see the doctor herself. We are driving her to Kansas City today to see another orthopedic surgeon who hopefully has the right equipment/facility to help her. Pray for wisdom and healing hands and hearts for our girl who so much loves her job at WPC.

Sassy is on her way to K-State this morning to meet with the orthopedic specialist for her hip

She will be out of the office for a while if she gets a hip surgery tomorrow

She will miss seeing all of her patients
She loves you all!!!

Update— plot twist ….apparently KState surgery suites are under construction. 😳😳😳. They do not feel comfortable doing her surgery in a non sterilized environment. They are recommending we wait and then proceed with a total hip replacement once they are completed later this summer

This does give us an opportunity to try to put Sassy on a diet to aid in her recovery. We also be trying yo get her stronger with some physical therapy.

Words cannot express how much we will miss Peggy at WPC as she takes on her new role in Heaven.

She was our friend, our coworker and one truly amazing nurse.

I first met Peggy over 20 years ago when I was first starting out in medicine at the residency clinic. Her love for others and her passion for the underserved helped shape my approach to health care. Peggy always modeled patience, kindness and compassion. Her love of the Lord led her approach and commitment to teaching both patients and young doctors.

Over the years it has been a blessing to care for her as she had cared for me. It has been a privilege to continue to work beside her and learn from her experiences and her large heart.

When times got rough we would always say that “God needs angels when he needs them”….. and he must have one heck of a project waiting for Peggy. She brought people together, she healed the sick and she loved without limitations. A legacy that will live on in me and those of you at Wichita Primary Care who were lucky enough to be her patient.

We love you Peggy… now and always!!
