Society of Women Engineers collegiate section at Wichita State University.

The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) student chapter at WSU provides a support system for women engineering students at WSU. SWE is a national organization that encourages diversity, empowers and supports women in the pursuit of a degree or career in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. At WSU, SWE provides opportunities for leadership, mentoring, outreach, volunteering

and more. We strive to stay involved with the College of Engineering (CoE) and have a history of partnering with other organizations to host events for all CoE students, faculty and staff. We continue to grow closer to our Wichita Professional Section of SWE, and are encouraged to participate in their activities.

On Wednesday, May 1st we are holding our last event of the semester! We are co-hosting Eric Lee from Mental Health Hackers with Ennovar and Women in CyberSecurity! Eric will be discussing mental health in the engineering/computer science fields. We will be in Woolsey Hall room 141 at 6 pm with snacks. See you there!

On Saturday, April 13, third through eighth grade girls are invited to attend Mother Daughter Day (hosted by our student organization) with their moms or other adult female role models! The event will be from 2 to 4 pm in the John Bardo Center at WSU. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in four STEM activities designed to introduce different types of engineering. Get ready to grab your brushes and be creative as we host a painting event coupled with an overview of our executive positions in SWE! We'll be in P2 A131 this Wednesday at 6 pm ready to paint!
