When I started this page 14 years ago, it really was just a journey about food. But over the years, I've been blessed and fortunate to build a platform to spotlight my city (and yes, poke fun at it sometimes).

While food is still a part of it, I want to be able to do more meaningful and impactful things to pay it forward and leave a mark for the future of Wichita... our youth. As a father, it's important for me to make sure our kids think Wichita is a special place.

Next month, I'll be partnering with the Fortune 88 Run Club, Scheels and DJ Carbon to support Wichita Adaptive Sports.

The group specializes in adaptive sports for those with physical disabilities. We will be inviting the youth for a special run club event, giving them support, letting them know people in the community are cheering them on, and we want to offer some extra surprises to be announced later.

Our inaugural event for the adult social was a huge success. Thanks to Bricktown Brewery for their amazing service. A huge shout out to all the members and their guests for attending! Be on the lookout for the next adult social, which will be the first Wednesday of every month.

WAS has been trying to build our adult programs and have created a monthly social gathering just for adults. You don’t need to play sports to participate in this event. Let’s pack the house.
