This guy is selling something, but I love the point he makes, which I teach in Kingdom Health classes,....if best isn't an option, choose better! Apple, orange, hummus, ... a lot of convenience stores have better choices and some are not expensive and some are cheaper than junk! Instead of stopping for fast food, stop at a grocery store and get the salad bar or even a sandwich or sushi. Better!
🍎 $3 well(being) spent…I was at a gas station getting pretty hungry — almost dangerously so.
And if you know anything about real-world nutrition, you know that’s exactly when mindless, risky decisions happen.
Instead of rolling the dice on whatever CRRAHP (calorie rich, refined and hyper palatable) “value meal” might come next, I spotted these small New Zealand apples calling my name.
$3 for the container. About $1 each.
Worth it? At this moment in time, absolutely.
To be honest, I’m no fan of plastic packaging or apples traveling all the way from New Zealand. But I’m also a Reality Meets Science guy. In the real world, imperfect but nutritious choices still count.
Those apples bought me something far more important than calories per penny. They bought me high nutrition and fullness with low calories per bite (yes, apples are full of intrinsic water weight — far, far more than sugar).
So for $3 I bought:
• stable energy
• appetite control
• avoiding a later food disaster
• staying aligned with my long-term health goals
