Sherdeill Breathett, Sr.

Business Development Coordinator

Sherdeill Breathett, Sr. brings over 30 years of experience in economic development, nonprofit leadership, and strategic community advancement. A visionary leader and skilled communicator, Sherdeill is known for building mission-driven teams and initiatives that drive growth, strengthen organizational infrastructure, and deliver measurable impact.

Currently serving as Director of Development for the Quivira Council, Boy Scouts of America in Wichita, Kansas, Sherdeill leads fundraising, endowment growth, and event management strategies that support youth leadership development. His previous roles include Chief Operating Officer at Union Rescue Mission and It Takes a Village, where he oversaw multi-site operations, staff leadership, facility development, and community programming to support vulnerable and underserved populations, including transitional youth and individuals experiencing homelessness.

From 2001 to 2018, Sherdeill served as Economic Developer and Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) Administrator for Sedgwick County Government. In this role, he led regional economic strategies focused on business retention, recruitment, workforce development, and global trade. He was instrumental in developing FTZ marketing infrastructure and played a key role in attracting high-profile investments, including Starwood Hotels & Resorts’ call center and the FTZ designation for Siemens Energy.

Sherdeill holds a Mini Master Certificate in Public Administration from Wichita State University, a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Oklahoma, and an A.A. in Journalism from Northeastern A&M. He is a Certified Business Retention & Expansion Professional (BREI) and an accomplished speaker and trainer in areas of economic strategy, branding, and leadership development.
