It’s hard to believe it’s been a decade since WSU GoBabyGo first started transforming lives! 🔟🎉

Samantha Corcoran, Nathan Smith, and Beth Watkins started our program as a Service Learning class project with two cars, and now we've grown into an active student club and community movement that we are so incredibly proud of.

As we celebrate our 10th Anniversary, we want to look back at the numbers that tell our story:

🚘 210+ Customized Cars: That’s over 200 children who gained the power to explore their world on their own terms.

🛠 825 Student Participants: To the Shocker students who spent late nights soldering, wiring, and building—you are the engine of this program. We're especially grateful for the unique collaboration between engineering, physical therapy, speech therapy, and other majors.

👥 20+ Community Therapists: Your expertise ensures every car is perfectly tailored to a child’s specific needs.

🤝 Dozens of Sponsors: More than just donors, you are true partners. From providing resources to cheering us on and showing up for our families, your hands-on commitment is what keeps us moving.

A special thank you to for connecting us with the generous sponsors who believe in our vision, and to the Wichita State University College of Engineering and the Project Innovation Hub for providing our lab space and a home for this work to flourish. And to Sarah and Chris Woelk for your support and your photographs that capture the joy of our little drivers.

To the families who have trusted us with your journeys: thank you for letting us be a small part of your lives. Watching a child hit that "go" button for the first time never gets old.

Here’s to the next 10 years of moving forward together! 💪🏻💛🖤

There is nothing quite like the energy of a room full of people working toward a single goal: getting a child moving independently! 🚘

This last week, our teams sat down with our little VIPs and their families to start the journey of creating a one-of-a-kind ride. Instead of a "one size fits all" approach, we spent each meeting diving into the details that make each car unique:

📐 The Perfect Fit: We took precise measurements to ensure each seat and frame provides the exact support each child needs to be comfortable and safe.

🏞 The Environment: We talked about where these cars will live—exploring the terrain, the need for car seats or custom lap trays, and how the car will be used at home or on the playground.

🔴 The Interface: We observed how each child communicates and interacts so we can place the controls and "bells and whistles" in the perfect spots.

🐶 The Style: Most importantly, we got the scoop on favorite colors, must-have cartoon characters, and the personal touches that make these cars truly theirs.

Next up: each team will hold a design meeting to finalize their design, materials, schedule, and budget. We can’t wait to turn these plans into reality! 🛠️🏁

Last week, our GoBabyGo chapter officially kicked off the semester! We welcomed 40 passionate students who are ready to change lives through mobility.

It wasn't just about the cars; it was about the connection. Our teams spent the evening:

🗣️ Meeting their VIPs: Learning the stories, needs, and "favorite things" of the amazing children they’ll be serving.

📝 Doing the Homework: Researching specific mobility challenges to ensure every modification is perfect.

🤝 Collaborating with Pros: A huge thank you to our community volunteer therapists who mentored the students through child assessments and interview prep!

This is interdisciplinary magic in action—engineers, future clinicians, and creators working together. We are so grateful to the generous donors who fund these builds and make independence possible for these kiddos.

Stay tuned—delivery day is coming this May! 🛠️✨
