A pharmacy in Newton will permanently close its doors at the end of the week due to a challenging business decision.

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is coming up this Saturday! Bring any medications by that you no longer need, and we'll get them disposed of properly, no questions asked, free of charge.

We'll be here at the Sheriff's Office, 120 E. Seventh St. in Newton, on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Drug Take Back Day helps us ensure prescriptions aren't lost, stolen or misused in our community (but no needles, please).

Drug Take Back Day is held twice each year. This past April, more than 335 TONS of medications were collected nationally. Stop on by this Saturday!
