PBMs have been threatening independent pharmacies with unfair reimbursement rates and selective network participation. If our representatives don’t act soon to control these PBM, all independent pharmacies will be at risk. Most mail in pharmacies are owned by your insurance company! These companies claim to decrease drug cost but studies show they do the opposite. They are charging more and paying independent pharmacies less while paying their own pharmacies inflated amounts. This leads to increased premiums!

Independent pharmacies are our last hope to decrease healthcare costs!

One employer was paying about $100 for a prescription for a generic antidepressant, though it could be bought elsewhere for about $12.
