Hey, Hey, Hey, it's been a hot, humid, Wichita summer minute since I've been posting and I'm taking some action to change that.
If we haven't met before, I'm Rianne, a massage therapist, uni-parent, parallel entrepreneur, and contrarian. I'm approaching my 20th anniversary of being a massage therapist! I just realized this - during a massage - a week or so ago and I'm still trying to wrap my head around that!
This coming November will be our 5 year anniversary of living in and loving Wichita! (Seriously, where does the time go? It can't all be the pandemic time suck...)
I'm serious about massage and have some strong feeling around the profession. That's why I:
- only have 1 price for any type of massage, because discussions around money when a client is already on the table is ICKY, I don't think women should pay a pink tax, and it's weird to me to expect clients to know all the nuances in the different modalities of massage.
- have ALWAYS had pretty high standards when it comes to sanitation, it's not just a thing I picked up because of COVID. (I'm the kind of massage therapist that thinks reusing the same blanket on all my clients day after day without washing it is super gross and has annoyed employers for washing stuff or asking for extras...seriously...)
- believe massage isn't just about rubbing muscles - it's about affecting the nervous system and that's what really helps your muscles and stress and anxiety and depression... I could go on and on...
Most importantly, after (cough, cough) 20 years I still LOVE providing massage for people.
How long have you been in your current profession and how long have you lived in Wichita?!
