Today we celebrate an important milestone for Move2Play 💙
After years of exceptional leadership and dedication, our founder, Valerie Skender, is officially retiring. Her vision, heart for children, and commitment to excellence shaped Move2Play into the practice our community knows and trusts today. We are incredibly grateful for the legacy she leaves behind.
We are also excited to share that Move2Play is now under new ownership by Monica Fouquet-Tyler, MS, CCC-SLP. Monica has been part of the Move2Play family for the past five years and brings 25 years of experience in pediatric speech, language, and feeding therapy. Her deep connection to our families, staff, and mission ensures continuity as we move forward.
While ownership has changed, our commitment has not. Move2Play will continue providing the same high-quality, child-centered care with a strong focus on growth, collaboration, and community.

Exciting news! Our exceptional team is paving the way for our extraordinary 3,000-square-foot expansion this fall. Over the last year, we have welcomed three new physical therapists and additional speech therapists, expanding our team of dedicated professionals who inspire hope and empower progress. The expansion will include five new therapy rooms and a larger lobby, enabling us to grow our feeding and swallowing services, equipment evaluations, orthotic services, and gait training with our Universal Exercise Unit. New staff also allow for the addition of dynamic movement integration (DMI) services, serial casting, and car seat evaluations. I am deeply grateful for the incredibly talented and devoted staff and families who have supported us over the past seven years, empowering us to grow and better serve the children of Kansas.

We are excited to welcome Alysson Brown to Move2Play. Alysson Brown is a physical therapist with a passion for working with children and families to maximize functional mobility in children with disabilities or injuries, combining compassionate care with evidence-based practices to deliver the best possible outcomes for the brightest possible future. She uses specialized one-on-one techniques to address gross motor deficits, promote development, and rehabilitate children from birth to eighteen years old with a variety of diagnoses including cerebral palsy, developmental delay, congenital abnormalities, FND, spinal cord injury, post-op orthopedic cases, TBI, genetic disorders, and musculoskeletal disorders.

Alysson has advanced certifications:
-Dynamic Movement Intervention (Level B)
-HINE testing (infant neurological examination)
-FES interventions (Functional electrical stimulation)

Alysson is a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician with an additional certification in medical car seats (STAC) to assist with car seat assessments and fittings to ensure safe travel for all kids.

She has experience in aquatic therapy, functional e-stim, serial casting, orthotics and splinting, and equipment assessments, including gait trainers, activity chairs, standers, wheelchairs, and power wheelchairs.
