A special heartfelt thank you to Stephanie Hale on her 10-year anniversary volunteering at WCH. A decade of sharing her smile and helpfulness with patients, visitors and staff, along with the inspirational quotes she brings in and distributes to our desks weekly โ truly a wonderful example of our WCH purple team!
When asked what caused her to initially sign on as a volunteer Stephanie replied that she was talked into it by the then Volunteer Coordinator Gogi.
What has kept her coming in each week for 10 years, she replies: I love the people at the hospital and love interacting with the patients!! It fulfills my desire to be of service!! It is very satisfying to know you have made someoneโs day better...whether it is an employee or a patient!
Stephanie has helped in patient registration and visiting patients in Acute Care along with many special assignments, like last monthโs evening Chamber Mixer, which occurred on her actual 10th year anniversary date.
When asked if she had a favorite story about being a volunteer at WCH, Stephanie recounted the time she was visiting with a patient and asked how they happened to come to Wickenburg. The patient replied: By ambulance! because they lived in Salome. A big belly laugh began their conversation.
Weโre so grateful that Stephanie chose to volunteer at WCH and fortunate that she continues to do so!
Stephanie is wearing a 10-year pin celebrating her significant milestone.
I encourage everyone to offer their gratitude for her 10 years when you see her on Wednesday afternoons in the Registration hallway.
