We provide inpatient treatment for women in the heart of the Sonoran Desert. Our serene, private setting lends itself to introspection, and our trauma-based program provides the support, and direction necessary for each individual to do a deep dive into their issues. A low patient-to-staff ratio means each person gets individualized attention from our highly trained clinical staff allowing them to make dramatic progress.

April is Alcohol Awareness Month—a time to look beyond the surface of addiction and understand its deeper impact.

As our Senior Fellow, Dr. Tian Dayton, shares, addiction doesn’t just affect the individual—it shapes the entire family system, often in ways that go unseen for years.

The effects can live on in relationships, emotional patterns, and the ways we learn to cope, long after substance use stops. That’s why healing requires more than addressing the behavior—it requires addressing the underlying trauma.

At The Meadows, we focus on treating the whole person and the relational impact of addiction, helping individuals and families move toward lasting, sustainable recovery.

We’re excited to share the evolution of one of our core programs. Willow Healing Center is the new name and expanded vision for our women’s residential treatment program in Wickenburg, Arizona. While the name is new, the foundation remains the same: trauma-focused care, clinical depth, and a commitment to helping women reconnect with themselves and move forward with clarity and strength.

We help women heal from trauma, addiction, intimacy disorders, eating disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, and co-occurring conditions.

While these areas have always been part of our work, Willow Healing Center represents a deeper commitment to treating each as a primary focus within an integrated, trauma-focused model of care. A place where women can rediscover safety, reclaim personal agency, and rebuild meaningful connections with themselves, others, and the world.

Backed by 50 years of trusted care and built for the evolving needs of women today.

Grief related to animal loss is often overlooked, leaving many people without a place to fully acknowledge what they are carrying. Animal loss can also elicit a larger emotional response, possibly triggering unresolved trauma, grief, or childhood abandonment. This response may also include feelings related to loss of identity. Our Led by Love workshop was created specifically to support those healing from this grief.

Led by experienced, licensed therapists, this multi-day, experiential therapy workshop offers a supportive, grounded space to reflect, connect, and process alongside others who understand the depth of these relationships

Finding your footing as a young adult can be tough. The transition to independence is exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming. Trauma, mental health challenges, or patterns of addiction can leave young adults feeling “stuck in-between,” unsure how to move forward.

The Claudia Black Young Adult Center (CBC) offers specialized inpatient treatment for ages 18+, designed specifically for this life stage. With gender-specific programs, experiential therapies, and peer support, CBC meets young adults where they are, addressing emotional trauma, depression, ADHD, anxiety, and addiction in a safe, understanding environment.

Healing at CBC isn’t one-size-fits-all, it’s tailored to the unique needs of young adults ready to build resilience, insight, and meaningful independence.
