💚 Recovery & Boundaries

We often talk about how true power in recovery comes from within. One of the core ways we build that power is through boundaries.

Boundaries aren’t walls, they’re clarity. They allow us to:
✔️ Communicate who we are and what we need
✔️ Define how others can be in relationship with us
✔️ Take in only what’s healthy, and share what’s good in return

This practice, sometimes called containment, strengthens our internal power and supports healthier connections. In recovery, boundaries aren’t intimidating—they’re empowering.

📺 Last week, our President, Jaime Vinck, joined 3TV to talk about the impact social media can have on mental health.

➡️ “We don’t want to ruminate. We don’t want to overly focus. But it’s constantly served up right in front of us—and it has an addictive component to it.”

Jaime shared how social media use is tied to the brain’s dopamine response and why limiting or stepping away from it can benefit mental well-being. She also emphasized the importance of finding healthy coping strategies—like time in nature, exercise, or even spending time with a beloved pet.

At The Meadows, we continue to see the ways digital habits affect mental health and are committed to helping individuals and families find balance, healing, and healthier connections. 💚

Today on 3TV, our very own Dr. Aaron Wilson, Chief Medical Officer at The Meadows, will be sharing why recovery is possible, and powerful for National Recovery Month.

💚 On the show, Dr. Wilson will highlights:

✔️How recovery transforms lives: from hopelessness to purpose, family, and community.
✔️The power of support: no one recovers alone—connection and encouragement are key.
✔️Signs someone may need help: changes in mood, behavior, relationships, or health.
✔️Breaking the stigma: addiction is a medical condition, not a moral failing.
✔️Whole-person care: healing mind, body, and spirit, not just treating symptoms.

At The Meadows, we believe in meeting people where they are with compassion, not judgment and guiding them toward sustained recovery.

📺 Tune in to 3TV today at 3:35PM to hear Dr. Wilson’s full interview!
