Ever wonder why our caregivers at Your Home Wiggins are required to be QMAP Certified? ❤️

QMAP stands for Qualified Medication Administration Personnel. This certification trains caregivers how to safely administer medications, properly document them, recognize side effects, understand resident rights, and respond appropriately in emergency situations.

In assisted living, medication safety matters. A simple mistake can have serious consequences, which is why we believe in investing in proper training and education for our team.

To become QMAP certified in Colorado, caregivers must:
✔ Complete a state-approved training course
✔ Pass testing and competency requirements
✔ Learn medication safety, documentation, infection control, and resident care standards

The process typically takes a few days to complete depending on the class schedule, and courses often cost around $100–$200.
