It is hard to believe we need a law to cover this. It shows just how far medicine has fallen from "Do no harm."

New Kentucky Law Protects Vulnerable People From Organ Harvesting

Dr. Heidi. Klessig, in article published at LifeSite, writes that a new law in Kentucky aims to better protect vulnerable patients during the organ donation process. It requires doctors to pause organ removal if there are any signs of life or uncertainty about whether a patient is truly dead.

The law was prompted in part by a shocking case where a man previously declared brain dead showed signs of awareness just before organ removal.

It also allows medical staff or family members to speak up and stop the procedure without fear of punishment, adding another layer of protection.

St. Gianna will be one of the Saints on our Fr. John Rocus Medical Saints Trail.
She is currently in the lovely courtyard of St Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Brighton.
St. Gianna, please pray for us!

STARTING TODAY: Novena to St. Gianna Molla for pregnant and parenting mothers.

As a physician, wife, and mother, St. Gianna Beretta Molla knew intimately what it was like to struggle with a challenging medical diagnosis during pregnancy.

From today through April 27 (the day before St. Gianna's feast day), join in praying a novena for mothers, families, and babies. See the link below to sign up for daily reminders, see the full list of daily intentions, and to learn about more St. Gianna.

What is CHI About?

Catholic Healthcare International, through a formal Collaboration Agreement with the Vatican owned Padre Pio hospital in Italy (Casa Sollievo Della Sofferenza), will duplicate the Padre Pio Home for the Relief of Suffering hospital in the USA.

The project is well underway and progress is being made. Padre Pio began the Casa by first encouraging the faithful to pray. The Casa USA is asking for people who pray before the Blessed Sacrament to add the Casa to their prayers and register for the First-ever Worldwide Perpetual Adoration team.

Please pray for and support this Beacon of Light in healthcare in our world.

Dr. Sanguinetti was a founder and the Director of Implementation of the Casa, handpicked by Padre Pio, and he is quoted in the July 1950 issue of La Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza as saying:
