Life Safety Strategies LLC Officer Down: First 5 Minutes self/buddy medical aid

Four hour Missouri POST certified course designed to familiarize law enforcement officers in the methods used to treat the three most preventable causes of death in combat. Line of duty deaths caused by severe bleeding, open chest wounds, and airway obstructions can be avoided with timely correct intervention. Topics include: patient assessment, tourniquet application, hemostatic agents, patient extraction, triage, and prevention & treatment of heat related illness. Officers will be introduced to new devices and techniques to provide first aid to themselves or fellow officers.

Thank you to the Lake Area Emergency Services Association for participating in our Active Killer Tabletop class today in Camdenton, Mo. This was our third trip down to the area We had participants from multiple lake area agencies including MSHP, Mid-County Fire Protection, Sunrise Beach FPD, Ozarks Amphitheater, hospitals, and many others. This past week we were fortunate to get invited back to the Lake of the Ozarks for two days of Active Killer training with at Sunrise Beach FPD. We were also joined by Gravois FPD, Osage Beach FPD, Sunrise Beach PD, Linn Creek PD, Laurie PD, Camdenton PD, Camden County SO, Lake West EMS, and Missouri State Highway Patrol.

FIRST REPORT RELEASED

ALERTT (Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training) has released its first preliminary report for the Uvalde, TX school attack. This report (Part 1 of an eventual 3) focuses on the police response until the suspect is neutralized.

Our take: We cannot find a single adult, not one, that did anything good for the children and staff in rooms 111 or 112.
