This is a critical moment for home care in Pennsylvania — and we need your voice right now.
As the Governor prepares his 2027 budget proposal, to be released in February, funding for agency Personal Assistance Services is at risk. The message from the Governor and policymakers is clear: they need to hear directly from us.
If we stand together and speak with one voice, we can send a clear and unified message in support of home care.
2. Text Governor Shapiro at 717-788-8990 (draft text message below)
Draft text message:
Hi Governor Shapiro. I want to stress how urgent it is that agency Personal Assistance Services are included in this year’s budget. Direct Care Workers and their agency employers are under significant strain, and without a rate increase, older adults and individuals with disabilities will suffer. 1 in 10 approved hours of care are not filled today. That statistic will be worse if you don’t help us. Please include us in your proposed budget. Your constituents need you to act. Thank you, YOUR NAME.
Every email. Every text. One clear message: home care cannot wait. Thank you for standing up for Pennsylvania's medically fragile population and the workforce that cares for them.
