✨ Client Reminder ✨

In order to provide the best support to all of the families I serve, services with me are not secured until all required steps are completed.

For private-pay clients:
Your due date is reserved once we complete your consultation to make sure we are a good fit for one another, the non-refundable deposit is submitted and contract is signed

For Medicaid clients:
Services are confirmed after the consultation is completed, the contract is signed, and a copy of your insurance card is received so I can verify active coverage.

Until these steps are completed, I’m unable to hold your spot on my calendar.

Thank you for understanding and for trusting me to support your journey. 🤍

A Love Letter to My Village

To every mother who has invited me into her birth story…

To every father who has allowed me to support his partner…

To every grandmother, sister, auntie, and friend who has welcomed me into sacred space…

Thank you.

Thank you for trusting my hands.
Thank you for trusting my voice.
Thank you for trusting my presence.

There are moments in labor that are unseen by the world … the quiet tears, the whispered prayers, the “I don’t know if I can do this” and I get to stand in that space and say, “Yes, you can.”

I have wiped so many tears, not only from your faces… but my own. So many believe my job is easy, but they have no idea of the cost. The systems I am fighting to improve. The stories I hold close about each family. The strain. The time it took to even be taken seriously in this industry. The endurance it takes to be misunderstood….

So much shows up in our work together. I have learned so much from all of you. None of it is really planned. I KNOW this is my calling from God. It just happens that way.

That is not something I take lightly.

This work stretches me. It grows me. It humbles me. It reminds me that purpose is not glamorous, it is consistent. It is obedient. It is service.

To those who support my journey: whether you book me, share my posts, pray for me, or simply speak my name in rooms I’m not in — you are part of this village too.

We are doing something bigger than business.

We are restoring dignity to mothers.
We are protecting families.
We are rewriting narratives.
We are building legacy.

And I am so grateful you’re here. Thank you.

Sincerely,
The Village Doula 🤍

The snug bug has made his arrival!

It was a surprise as mom and dad waited until delivery to see the gender. I had a strong feeling it was a boy. Mom was convinced it was a girl!

I had the honor of cutting the cord after delayed cord clamping & I also did skin to skin with this little guy while mom was taken care of per moms request.

Congratulations & Happy Birthday!

Probably the fastest labor I have ever had so far.

❤️❤️❤️

Currently attending a birth!

Its moms 6th baby and she is at 4cm, contractions are coming in strong waves with no breaks in between.

She is saying this birth is a lot different than any of her others.

I think she may progress quickly.

We shall see!

This is what co-regulation looks like.

When a child can fully relax on their father’s chest, their nervous system is saying:

“I am safe.”

Research consistently shows that children with actively involved fathers have lower rates of behavioral issues, reduced anxiety, and stronger emotional regulation skills.

Safety isn’t taught through intensity.
It’s built through presence. Through calm. Through consistency.

When mothers are supported, stress decreases in the home.
When stress decreases, fathers can show up more fully.
And when fathers show up, children thrive.

Healthy fatherhood isn’t about perfection.
It’s about availability.

And it can be learned. This dad happens to be my husband. He’s living proof.

This isn’t just a nap.
This is attachment forming in real time.

After nearly a month of prodromal labor, frustration tried to creep in.

We had weighed the pros and cons of elective induction. She chose to wait. To trust. To pray for patience.

With her previous births, her water had always been broken manually. During our consultation, she shared one quiet hope:
“I just want to experience my water breaking on its own.”

Tonight, in the delivery room, we reminded her of that prayer.

And moments later… her water broke naturally.

Faith and patience carried her here.

This is why doulas matter. We help mothers hold perspective when exhaustion clouds it. We help them slow down, ask questions, and sometimes avoid interventions that aren’t medically necessary. We protect space for the labor they desire while honoring both miracle and medicine.

Mama, your prayers are not small. You are not forgotten.

“But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint.” — Isaiah 40:31

A newborn who can rest like this
is a newborn who feels safe.

Safety is not accidental.
It’s intentional support.
It’s calm presence.
It’s experienced hands in the room.

In the earliest days, nervous systems are forming.
Mothers are healing.
Families are becoming.

Postpartum care is not a luxury.
It is maternal health.
It is prevention.
It is legacy work.

And I don’t take that lightly.

Sincerely,
The Village Doula 🤍
