Volunteer Lisa and her beloved Dalmatian, Edison, recently visited our Liberty House program, to share this pup's gentle ways and have some fun showing off his skills as a certified therapy canine. Edison, who is deaf and responds dutifully to hand signals, is a joy to be around! Our members and staff really enjoyed learning about this breed and participating in Edison's demonstrations. From left are Dan, Mya, George, Rachel, Judy (and her pup), with Lisa and Edison.

He was greeted (from left) by Judy Endo, Jude Carter, and Jenna Maher. We are so proud of this team and our members who have endless curiosity and a commitment to lifelong learning.

Today was all about students helping students at Children’s Service Center! Wilkes University's Program Board paid a friendly visit to donate care packages for the high school students in our Partial Hospitalization Program/Milton Barnes School. The donation of school supplies and hygiene products was made possible by Wilkes University’s student activities that support local non-profit organizations and other community charity initiatives. From left are Wilkes students Logan Colonna, Vanessa Coyle, Samara Carey, Haylie Lund, Gavin Eyerly, and Alyson Buchinski with CSC’s Sydney Szafranovicz, Partial Hospitalization Director; John Williams, Operations Supervisor; and Lindsay Bower, Director of Education. We appreciate this generous and thoughtful gift to our students!

Our dedicated team joined Governor Josh Shapiro and the Pennsylvania departments of health and drug and alcohol programs last week at the Wyoming County Emergency Management Agency for the Governor’s roundtable discussion on efforts to save lives, prevent fatal overdoses, and support families struggling with substance use disorder. The visit followed the release of the Shapiro Administration’s Overdose Prevention Program Annual Report, which details considerable progress in reducing overdose deaths across Pennsylvania. Participants included (from left): Christopher Boyle, President & CEO, Children’s Service Center of Wyoming Valley; Governor Shapiro; and Robinson Counseling Center’s Cammie Anderson, roundtable panelist and prevention/outreach coordinator, and Eric Pollick, Director, Substance Use Disorders Program. Serving more than 1,800 clients in 2025, Robinson Counseling Center’s Substance Use Disorders program continues this important work, offering treatment, support, education, and outreach to further improve on these goals.
