One of my favorite compliments that I get from new clients is, "I've never had a massage therapist work on those muscles before."
They'll come in complaining of neck, shoulder, mid-back, or low back pain. And then we talk about treatments they've had in the past. Usually, they've tried massage, chiropractic, physical therapy, and medications with little relief.
Then we work together and discuss what is likely causing the problem.
❌ Sure, you feel pain in your neck or head, but have you had the muscles on the front of your neck, like your SCM and scalenes, addressed? Nope.
❌ Your shoulder movement is restricted, and you constantly feel pain there. But has anyone worked on releasing your tight pecs or subscapularis? Nope.
❌ You're dealing with back soreness and pain that shoots down one leg. But has anyone helped stretch your hip flexors or work on your piriformis? Nope.
When we look at what muscles are pulling the body out of alignment, your treatments work better, feel better, and last longer.

Don't get me wrong, this massage can be just as relaxing. There will be some discomfort until the trigger points or adhesions release. But after that happens, your body will feel truly relaxed.
Pain shots and medications don't remove the pain. They numb it and do more damage. I am so sick of seeing people dependent on things that harm them. Things that doctors prescribe without a second thought.
