“Knowing that I can leave having helped someone or made an impact on someone’s life, even if it’s just through education, which is what we’re mainly doing right now, makes me feel good. It means a lot to know they trust me enough to listen.” - BAYADA York Tech apprentice Gabby Dunlap

WBTV News reporter Rachel Richardson interviewed Gabby at our Rock Hill, SC, office. Thanks to a $600K grant from BAYADA, Gabby is working toward her RN at York Technical College while receiving paid, on-the-job training and providing personal care and companionship to BAYADA clients. Without this funding, Gabby shared she might not have been able to pursue this path.

After a devastating accident, former Philadelphia Highway Patrol officer Andy Chan was left critically injured. His wife, Teng, never left his side, transforming their home and becoming his full-time caregiver.

But love needed reinforcements. That’s when BAYADA stepped in.

From skilled nurses to devoted home health aides, Andy’s care team didn’t just show up—they stayed. One aide even went to nursing school and returned to continue caring for him.

Today, Andy communicates with blinks and smiles. He listens. He knows. And he is surrounded by unwavering love and care.

Thank you to Andy’s incredible care team from our BAYADA Philadelphia offices. Your compassion, commitment, and excellence are the heart of "The BAYADA Way." ❤️

“Coming from South Dakota, where being openly gay felt unsafe, I got married, had children, and stayed in the closet—like many others from my generation. My journey of coming out at age 60 was long and challenging, but knowing I worked for an accepting company reassured me.” - Rich Magnuson, BAYADA Nurse

We’re honored to share Rich’s story—one of resilience, authenticity, and the power of a supportive work environment. Rich is not only a dedicated nurse, but also a source of comfort and representation for his clients and colleagues.

Thank you, Rich, for bringing your full self to the work you do every day. ❤️

“When you think of nursing, hospitals usually come to mind first, but home care has changed my perspective. I’ve seen firsthand how providing medical care in a child’s own home, their safe and comfortable space, makes all the difference. They’re more open and more themselves than they would be in a hospital setting. It’s special to see that, and it’s rewarding for the family and for me.” – Lauren Plyler, BAYADA Apprentice

We’re excited to announce our new partnership with York Technical College to launch a scholarship program supporting the next generation of nurses. Lauren is one of our apprentices from this partnership who is working to become a registered nurse through York Tech while working part-time with our Rock Hill, SC office.

Through partnerships like these and opportunities such as our Advance to LPN program, we’re actively working to help alleviate the nursing shortage in our local communities. By offering flexible and rewarding career paths in home care, we hope to empower aspiring and current nurses to build meaningful careers caring for clients where they feel most comfortable — their own homes.

We would like to thank Bill Richards, Constituent Relations for Senator David Argall’s office, for taking the time to sit down with Director Mike Stacey to discuss our ongoing battle for increased reimbursement rates for our field staff. Our staff does the incredibly important and difficult job of taking care of our sick and elderly to help keep them independent and where they belong, at home. Unfortunately, the current rates do not reflect the important work they do. With the help of Senators like David Argall we hope to change this! Thank you again for your time, Senator David G. Argall and Mr. Bill Richards.
