At the Nesbitt School of Pharmacy, every faculty member has a unique story, and weโre excited to share them with you!
This week, meet ๐๐ซ. ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฒ ๐๐ฒ๐ง๐ง ๐๐๐ฐ๐ข๐ฌ, ๐๐ก๐๐ซ๐ฆ๐, ๐๐-๐๐๐, Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice. Originally from Wilkes-Barre, PA, Dr. Lewis earned her PharmD right here at the Nesbitt School of Pharmacy! She then completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Carolinas HealthCare System-Northeast (now Atrium Health Cabarrus) in Concord, NC.
Dr. Lewis joined Wilkes in 2018 and practices at The Wright Center for Community Health in Jermyn, PA. At Wilkes, she teaches therapeutics in diabetes, hypertension, heart failure, and outpatient anticoagulation.
Her favorite part of teaching is helping complex topics โclickโ for students and watching them grow into confident future pharmacists. In ambulatory care practice, she values building long-term relationships with patients and learning their stories because at the heart of both teaching and clinical care, itโs all about connection and communication.
๐ Fun fact: Outside of work, Dr. Lewis enjoys spending time with her family, including welcoming baby Tristyn Lynn this summer! She also loves getting outdoors and going hiking.
Stay tuned every Friday as we continue spotlighting the paths that shape the pharmacy profession. Your future might look a lot like one of these stories. :)
