Don Featheringill, age 69, past resident of Willard and current resident of Woodruff, South Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. A 1974 graduate of Seneca East High School, Don worked numerous jobs locally, most notably at RR Donnelley and Sons, Armatrout Sanitation, Thunder Wheels Skating Rink and he was a volunteer for the Willard Fire Department and EMT. Barbara Ann Perkins, age 79, of Willard, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly in her residence on September 22, 2025. She was born on July 9, 1946, eighth child to the late Rose Marie Horne (née Amburgy) and James Ermin Horne.

Barb was a force. There wasn’t much she couldn’t do, and it's impossible to list all the things she was to those lucky enough to know her. She was a beloved wife, sister, mother, aunt, and grandmother; she was our party planner, kitchen hairdresser, cake decorator, advocate, and the center of her family. James “Jim” Rose, age 69, passed away of a heart attack on Friday, September 19, 2025. He was born on September 16, 1956 in Norwalk to the late Donald and Mary Rose. A 1974 graduate of Willard High School. Upon graduation he joined the Marines and served 4 ½ years as an MP. After leaving the Marine Corp he joined the Willard Police Department in 1979. He left the PD after 6 years to become Huron County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy. After 3 years he moved to Delaware, Ohio as a Patrol Officer with Delaware PD. After 16 years he retired as a Captain. A year later he became manager of Court Security for Ohio Supreme Court. In 2011 he left the Supreme Court to be the Chief of Police in Milan, Ohio. In 2013 he became Deputy Chief of Perrysburg Police Department. In 2021 Jim and Teresa decided to move back to Willard to be near family and truly retire. That lasted until 2023 he decided retirement wasn’t for him and joined Ohio State Security. In 2024 he was approached by Event Risk Security Company to be the V.P. of Compliance where he remained until his untimely death. Arlene Lucile Heydinger, age 98, of New Washington, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at Altercare in Bucyrus, Ohio surrounded by her family. She was born on July 6, 1927, in New Washington, Ohio to the late George F. and Ethel L. (Langjahr) Studer. Arlene was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church and the Rosary Altar Society. She was the former secretary for the principal at Buckeye Central School for 36 years. She was also a member and Past President of the Auxiliary American Legion 405 and enjoyed socializing and fishing at Lake Erie at Summer Breeze and playing cards. Lallah “Ruth” Sharp passed away peacefully at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky, Ohio on September 16, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 22, 1943 in Plymouth, Ohio to the late Henry and Martha (Redden) Van Loo.

Ruth graduated from high school in 1961 and worked as a secretary for years. She attended cosmetology school and eventually opened her own beauty shop, Ruth’s Beauty Boutique. During her life, Ruth enjoyed working and raising her children-She loved painting and decorating her home, planting and tending to her flower gardens and playing with her Yorkies. Arlene F. (Jacobs) Dodd, 92, passed away September 5, 2025, at her home in Lancaster PA, under the loving care of her son and best bud, Steve, and surrounded by all her children. Born May 25, 1933, in Willard, Ohio, she was the youngest of seven children born to Arnold K. and Florence (Wiles) Jacobs. Arlene was well-known for her beautiful and delicious sugar cookies, crewel embroidery, mending and sewing everything from doll clothes to Halloween costumes and bridesmaid dresses.
