We love Care to Learn - Willard
Clear vision changes everything, especially for students.
For many Willard families, access to eye care can be a barrier. Through our long-standing partnership with Jarvis Family Eye Center, that barrier disappears.
Dr. Jarvis and his team have been serving Willard students for more than 20 years, beginning with the Lions Club and continuing today through Care to Learn - Willard.
"Our involvement started long before Care to Learn," Dr. Jarvis shared. "When the Lions Club in Willard ended, Care to Learn stepped in and filled that gap — and we simply continued the same process."
When a student is referred through Care to Learn - Willard:
• Comprehensive eye exams and glasses are provided
• Families receive no bills
• Appointments are scheduled at a time that works for them
"A lot of families are underinsured, and the cost of glasses can be high," Dr. Jarvis explained. "This partnership allows us to help kids while keeping costs low — and it saves Care to Learn a significant amount of money."
The impact goes beyond eyesight.
"When you can't see, school is pretty miserable," he said. "We want kids to enjoy school and do the best they can."
Dr. Jarvis also shared something he wishes more people understood: "I don’t think people realize the impact Care to Learn has on kids and their education," he said. "There’s so much happening behind the scenes — school staff, social workers, board members — doing one-on-one work to get kids the care they need. That part often goes unseen."
This partnership wouldn't be possible without the entire Jarvis Family Eye Center team, who consistently say "yes" to Care to Learn referrals and help ensure students receive the care students need — quickly, compassionately, and with dignity.
We are deeply grateful to Dr. Jarvis and his team for investing in Willard students and supporting their success, year after year. 💚
