Love That Shows Up
“Love is patient, love is kind…” — 1 Corinthians 13:4
There is something deeply humbling about watching animals love. They don’t hesitate, overthink, or hold back. They simply show up—fully present, fully accepting. Again and again, they reflect a quiet, steady love that mirrors the heart of Christ.
Animals meet each person exactly where they are. They don’t judge appearances, abilities, or past mistakes. They don’t care about status or comparison. They offer patience. They offer kindness. They offer presence. And in doing so, they become living reminders of the unconditional love we have been given through Christ.
How often do we complicate love? We measure it, withhold it, or offer it only when it feels deserved. Yet Scripture calls us to something different—to a love that is patient, not easily frustrated… a love that is kind, not self-seeking… a love that does not boast, compare, or keep score.
Today is an invitation.
Where do you need to show up with this kind of love?
Who in your life needs patience instead of pressure?
Who needs kindness instead of correction?
Who needs to be met right where they are—without judgment, without expectation?
Maybe it’s a child testing boundaries.
Maybe it’s a friend who is struggling.
Maybe it’s someone you find difficult to understand.
Or maybe… it’s even yourself.
Love that reflects Christ doesn’t demand perfection—it offers presence.
Just like those quiet, faithful animals, we are called to be vessels of a love that simply shows up.
Prayer:
Lord, teach me to love like You do—patiently, kindly, and without condition. Help me to meet others where they are, just as You meet me. Open my eyes to the people who need Your love today, and give me the courage to show up with a heart that reflects You. Amen.
