We’d like to share an important update with our valued patients who have Humana Managed Medicaid or Medicare Advantage insurance coverage.

We’re in active negotiations with Humana and are committed to a fair resolution that ensures you and your family continue receiving the high-quality care you deserve. Your health is our priority, and we’re doing everything we can to maintain your in-network access to the Mercy Health facilities and caregivers you know and trust.

If an agreement isn't reached before December 1, 2025, Mercy Health will become out-of-network for Humana Managed Medicaid and Medicare Advantage plans. For details on how this may affect you and what actions you can take, please visit www.mercy.com/humana-updates.

Please join us in congratulating Marsha Danhoff, retiree and former Marketing Director, on being selected as the winner of the 2025 Catherine McAuley Lifetime of Service Award. Marsha was recognized at our annual ceremony during Mercy Week.

We're excited to announce the return of the hospital café—now unveiled with a fresh new name: Crimson Café! Staff gathered to celebrate the cafe's grand reopening at Mercy Health — Willard Hospital with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony. The event featured opening remarks from Ambulatory Operations Director Keith Woodland, a heartfelt prayer by Sister Diane Hay, and a ribbon-cutting.

The Crimson Café represents more than just a name—it’s a symbol of renewed energy, community and care for all who walk through our doors.

Kelly is a Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner with a passion for building strong patient relationships and helping people live healthier lives. Her journey in nursing is a true testament to her dedication—she started as an LPN, advanced to RN and ultimately became an NP, all within the same practice, alongside her mentor, Dr. Billy Back.

Kelly chose primary care because she loves the variety and the opportunity to help patients manage both acute and chronic health issues. Whether someone is facing a long-standing condition or just not feeling like themselves, she finds deep fulfillment in helping them feel better and find lasting solutions.

As a new provider, Kelly is focused on growing her skills and confidence, supported by a team of coworkers and mentors who share her values. She was drawn to Mercy Health for its Mission and strong faith-based foundation, which align with her own commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.

Kelly believes that communication is at the heart of great care. She takes the time to listen and work collaboratively with each patient to develop personalized treatment plans.

Outside of work, Kelly enjoys singing and playing tennis—a perfect balance to her busy clinical life.

Summer fun is in full swing at Mercy Health — Willard Rehab Pediatric! Themed, weekly camps bring kids together for socializing, sensory adventures, motor play, food exploration and more—all led by our dedicated therapy team.

We’re proud of the smiles, progress and positive feedback from families as we prepare to wrap up before school starts. Stay tuned for more!

Congratulations to Sierra Finnegan, RN, DAISY Award winner! Sierra's exceptional care, compassion and dedication made all the difference for a family in need. Thank you for going above and beyond and making all the difference in the lives of our patients.

Sierra's nominator shared, "My husband was seen in ER for shortness of breath, was in AFib and CHF. The ER doctor wanted to ship him to another hospital, but no beds were available. We stayed in the ER until he was admitted in the morning. Sierra was on top of his needs, answered all of the family's questions and ensured we had anything we needed, i.e., water, coffee. He was placed on a BiPAP, and his heart went back to a regular rhythm by morning, and with medications and bypass, his breathing and oxygen saturations improved. During the night, Sierra made my husband and family comfortable. We are all so thankful for the care he received and was able to be admitted to Mercy instead of being transferred elsewhere. They have full faith in the staff of Mercy, and the care they provide is above and beyond what we have had in larger hospitals. Thank you!"
