Per many requests, we are excited to offer a Mindful Motion Camp for our younger friends! If you have a kiddo ages 4-5 that seems to have some difficulty coordinating body movements or completing simple tasks,this may be the camp for them! Opening up a fun “conversation” about just some of the things that we address at Playful Progress Therapy with some Valentine themed conversation hearts! 🩵🩷💚💛

Miss Ashton’s very favorite therapy treatment theme…..GRINCH 💚🎄

• SENSORY BIN (Green colored rice and red Pom Poms)
* Roll the first dice to see how many scoops of green to fill the Grinch with.
* Roll the second dice to see how many “hearts” to give the Grinch.
* Targeted Skills: counting, bilateral coordination, pincer grasp, utensil use, scooping, hand eye coordination.
* **pair this with animal or Christmas walks to gather the dice between each task to provide some movement and proprioceptive input!
• NAME ACTIVITY
* Color the Grinch and the hearts with the letters of your name (do in prone, on vertical surface, seated at table, in tall kneeling, etc.)
* Cut out the hearts (depending on skill level, cut out boxes or cut out the heart shape for more complex shape practice).
* Glue the hearts on in the correct order.
* Targeted Skills: core strength, motor control, hand eye coordination, bilateral coordination, cutting skills, letter identification, gluing skills.
• GRINCH CRAFT
* Rope green tissue paper or construction paper into small pieces.
* Apply glue to small paper plate and place all green pieces on. Make sure all pieces are sticking! (Use purple glue stick to provide visual cues for full coverage of plate)
* Using red construction paper, cut out a triangle. Cut out white rectangle and white circle for remaining pieces of hat. (Use cardstock for increase resistance/hand strength building with cutting). Cut out eyes on yellow construction paper.
* Glue all pieces on.
* Draw on your Grinch face!
* Targeted Skills: bilateral coordination, hand strength, visual motor, motor planning, visual memory.
