This weekend I had the honor and privilege of attending and providing massage at the - Mycelium Mysteries Conference. 🍄‍🟫

Gloria created a true oasis with her magnificent sauna, outdoor massages spaces, and healing presence. We had a stellar massage team and I’m blown away by the energy shared with Gloria, Cari, and Shay.

Being in the woods for 3 days was magical. 🌳Sharing space with other women who feel deeply about change and growth was so inspiring. Learning about the ecosystem of mycelium and how it can support us, nurture us, grounds us- so we can find balance, strength and wellness to be the best versions of our selves.

Thank you to everyone who came out to make this conference transformative. 🍁

Rest & Relax vs fight or flight…this is the talk of the holistic world these days. We know how important nervous system regulation is..this is why we’re all talking about it!

The big questions is HOW? Here’s a few ways that might help. ✨

🪑Sit down-take a moment to feel grounded and supported. Try a warm blanket and feel it on your body.
💦Try cold water-splash it on your face or run your hands under cold facet. This can activate vagus nerve to access ventral vagal state.
😮‍💨Turn to your breath-deep breathing stimulates our parasympathetic nervous system. Try counting the inhale breath and matching it with the exhale.
👀Try the name game-Tap into the senses. 5 things you can see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell, 1 thing you can taste.
👵🏼Spend time with a safe person/pet- you know who this is. Use your support system to your benefit.
🌳Go outside-whether it’s going for a walk, jumping in a lake, grounding your feet in the grass outside, or looking at the trees through a window. Nature is here to help us.

What is MELT? The MELT Method is a science-backed self-care technique that anyone can use to stay active, enhance performance, and get out (and stay out) of pain. Developed by manual therapist and exercise physiologist Sue Hitzmann, it uses specially designed hand and foot treatment balls and custom made soft rollers (along with your own body and breath) to calm the mind, tap into the autonomic regulators of the nervous system to boost control, and restore the supportive qualities of the connective tissue system to bring stability and balance back to the body. No experience necessary!

It is not a hike or naturalist talk but rather an experience of immersing yourself in nature. You will be asked to leave your cell phone and watch behind, and to allow the healing power of the natural world to improve your physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
